G'day Keith ,arrh brazing becoming a less popular means of repair these days more is the pity. All though brazing doesn’t give intergranular penatration, this method is more than strong enough for these types of repairs. I have brazed cast iron & sheet steel many times over the years. When taught by old spuds in the day, they showed me to finish off with a file after grinding, they claimed it opened the pores of metal, giving stronger adhesion. That is very cool, watching you bring a part that is basically useless back into service. I'm hoping that the next video will show how you machine it to "spec". Keith, what size tip are you running for this brazing job and what are your pressures at if you remember? Thanks for sharing, nice job brazing that housing. I seem to get in a hurry and use too big of a tip, it works ok but then I keep the heat on it and a section will sag.

I was using a #3 tip and I cracked the valves, 9 on Acc. and 30 on the Oxg, gages are old but ballpark anyhow.

@@KeithFenner, Thanks for the reply. I’ve got an old set of gauges too, I got them for Christmas one year when I was a junior in high school, I’m 72 now. Lol They’re a really good set of Airco’s, they have bevel edge glass on the gauges, they still work great, especially for home use.

@@ducewagshe didn’t talk about politics but neither did the OP say he did. However, it’s not as if Keith isn’t making it very well known where his political allegiance lies. Pictures say a thousand words and he’s proud to share that. I’d rather not see politics on this kind of channel regardless of what side someone is on but it’s his channel and he can do what he likes with it.

@@Martin52863 OP "I don't think you should make a tech site political". I guess a photo of a person makes this channel about politics, and you also have an issue with a photo. At the same time, nothing about the American flag shown, or the song done at the start. Kinda sounds like the neighbor 2 miles down the road that called a town meeting over a flag I have flying outside. It was called a "China supporter flag" in the meeting. Shall we talk about my USMC flag on my flag pole that people had an issue with? And have a nice day.
