Signing up and serving will do the same thing 😂😂😂 instead of watching it and listening to other peoples stories let them be of encouragement for you and sign up and do what these dudes did, don’t watch it actually do it!!!! That’s where respect and honor comes from,,, doing something even when you don’t have to when others won’t that’s courage and honor. Being a veteran myself I absolutely agree and support a not 2 year draft enlistment but 3 years. Especially these days where young boys aren’t growing up to be mature men who carry themselves with respect and honor and dignity and have a solid base or ethics and morals all the things that military service especially the marines and the army help develop in people who do end up serving. We need now more than ever a draft, where parents have failed their kids not teaching them respect, boundaries, integrity, honor, telling the truth the military will put in place these things that were not taught by parents and form not only warriors but men!!! I served 9 years as airborne infantry and I used to love to see dudes who were serving but don’t want to be there because they were forced one way or another to sign up and in that and in them I saw the change that was forced on them to change 😂😂😂 they fought the change but they turned out better for it, they were better human beings that change made a difference. We need that today more than ever, look at the average male age 35 and younger 😂😂😂😂😂😂 what a joke 😂😂😂 you people ain’t men, you’re entitled, selfish, weak, narrow minded individuals that have absolutely no purpose or mission. The amount of crying and bitching I see from this group this generation is ridiculous and astronomical I can’t even believe half the time just how much they bitch and bitch about shit they can change if they wanted to 😂😂😂😂😂 weak!!!! All weak!!!! Personally I have zero respect for this generation

I'm 70 years old and my Dad was career Army and a veteran of WW2, Korea and Vietnam. When you spoke of keeping the memory of those Marines you lost alive, the name Donald Finkbeiner comes to my mind. He was my Dad's best friend in WW2 who didn't survive to come home like my Dad did. I guess he mentioned Donald Finkbeiner's name enough times to keep his memory alive in my own mind. I have passed on the name in conversations with my sons....maybe they'll remember too. There were other names Dad mentioned...too many names.....and I know a few of them, like his company commander Captain Martin., but it was Donald Dad was closest to, from Stateside training to April of 1945....less than a month before the war's end in Europe.

As an Iraqi person who worked alongside marines I love to watch and hear those stories about the bravery of soldiers and then who served in Iraq but I cannot take away the fact that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and the country was destroyed and thrown in vicious cycle of violence and death for no reason I feel sorry for all the soldiers who died in that war

@@kevinotoole2285 for me I was hoping and thinking that my country would be better off without saddam and would be like Kuwait or Germany or Japan and all those countries that America have been involved in but I believe that I was wrong 😑 America did a major mistake by handing over the money and power to the outsiders and outcast persons who were spreading misinformation and propaganda against iraq to the governments or America and UK but in reality they were only doing that for themselves and personal benefit and gains Most of my country men you mentioned are proxies for Iran and most of the southern parts of the country are under their control and their militia groups who running Chios in the country Iraq situation are useless and hopeless

Those 3 Marines did come home with you. I'm assuming their bodies were flown back to the states. Because of your actions and leadership, the families of those Marines had closure. And because of your actions and leadership, all of the other Marines in that battle came home too. I've never been a fan of getting awards for doing what you are trained to do, your job. Though, with some exceptions, they are definitely earned. You earned that award. Tell their story! U.S. Army soldier (1991-1999) FF/PM (2003- )

You know, after all of that, as many vets that have been through this (myself included), they return to civilian life and employers in quite a few places will not hire him. It’s a struggle being in the civilian side. I did a tour in Kosovo 1999, 5 tours Iraq, 1 tour Syria and 3 tours Afghanistan. I retired in April 2015 and I struggle to find employment in Nevada. This story is what war was like. Being shot sucks, being blown up sucks, but trying to find employment that pays good enough to support a family with is a struggle. My last interview (24 Oct 2024), I was told all vets should be homeless and die. Really sucks, this is my reality, just like many others.
