On my son’s 2nd birthday we got him a young lab. A year later she was all I had because of a drug addiction for pain medication that OEF injuries, medicine and then Womack supplied me on. I didn’t have my service buddies, I didn’t know anyone who I could talk to and that Labrador just wouldn’t leave me alone! She became my support & my partner alike, I trained her and she, me! I pulled myself out of that situation and fought the hardest Battle of my life to win my family back and I won! I continue to fight the good fight, she continues to pull me back from the abyss from time to time. Veterans need dogs, this is a service that is saving lives and we should all support them! Make a difference in 22 a day, this is on us to fix not the VA.

Have a very similar story. Ex army medic here. Got my dog and went through opioid addiction. PTSD. Homeless. Divorced. Suicidal etc etc. and the dog stayed by me pushing me to Be outside and get out of bed in the morning every day. Couple Years later and she’s still my best friend and we travel the country together.

Making my rescue German Shepherd/Akita mix my service dog was the best decision ever. Rescue dogs have so much love to give. Donating to rescue22 last year was high point for my wife and I last year.

What a great service. Huge respect! I can absolutely relate to what the veterans are explaining, and what some of the comments here disclose. I am living with a malinois, and I fully agree that such a heart dog can save a person mentally and physically.

The documentary War Dog: A Soldier's Best Friend is a must-see. It is about military service dogs and their handlers in/out of combat zones. The film is one of the most heartbreaking military documentaries I've ever seen. It's might be HBO/Max.

I hate coffee. But I’m subscribing right now. You guys are involved in some great things with some total warriors. I’m going to do my best to make a donation at the end of the month. What a great foundation. Nobody should have to feel the way any of our brothers and sisters feel when they come home. Please know people do care. I’ve heard vets don’t like this but I thank every one of them. I even got booed on a plane for welcoming home/thanking a kid who was on his way to see his family after his 2nd tour. He was really nervous and was getting married. I’m grateful I got to talk to him for a few mins. . I told them all to fuck off. How dare they. Imagine that plane stopped in Afghanistan and kicked them all out. You would be begging those hero’s to protect you. Pathetic. Thanks for your content.

@@Devinek9john Oh I can tell. I think it’s great. I’m a dog guy myself. I’ve had up to 4 rescues at a time. I just don’t have the time anymore. A girl from Miami told me she found this cute little 7 month old Pit mix. He is adorable and the sweetest thing. It’s too bad I couldn’t get him to these guys. At least I know he would have an amazing life. If he became a working dog then he would go from homeless to hero. Most importantly he would have a place in this world. Doing an amazing job.
