Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This KZbin channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

Can I just say, the addition of Guy to this series in a more "involved" way i.e. more shots and more commentary has been a genius move. Guy is an absolute gem! Really uplifts the videos even when Rick is on a bad day (not to mention Guy has been on fire recently!). Really makes you feel like you're there in a 3 ball with them

Been watching you since I started golf 2 years ago and I’m super thankful for everything! I learned more from you than any other KZbinr/instructor. Your hitting and golf game is amazing. I think the only thing that holds you back from shooting below par is the mental side and recovering from a few poor strikes. You are hard on yourself. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone anymore :) we all support you and I promise that we aren’t going anywhere even if you do hit a slice ;). Thank you for all the amazing content and I’m excited to keep watching!

Great try. So close but you always let your adrenaline get the best of you. Whenever you have a PW in hand...it is going long past the green. Same with mid range putts...10 feet past. Own your tendencies and adjust for them...easier said then done. Thanks for the great content.

On the hole where Rick air mails the green and ends up in the woods. If you watch it again he did swing hard from a flyer lie. Next thing I noticed is Rick mostly uses his watch for yardage and I have seen where GPS devices can be way off the yardage you get from a range finder, which is more accurate. So maybe a combination of both why he was so far off on that shot.
@HonicBlue
@HonicBlue Жыл бұрын
it's interesting watching these videos, Rick will get annoyed when a put cuts short of the hole, however he's fine when the ball goes long and ends up the same distance away. Personally I'd rather short a put than let it go sailing by. I notice a lot of the puts that Rick misses will actually roll out of the cup due to too much speed, and some shots he outright misses he hit way too hard. Seems like a lighter touch may be a better way to go unless I'm missing something.

Hey Rick, I LOVE this series!! You seem to be making similar errors in your quest. Since you are already “videotaping” and editing the entire round, Could you not do a separate post-mortem? Review your errors with the goal of not repeating them? I don’t know that it would make sense to include unlucky bounces or any results beyond your control. Put when you consistently miss putts so far past the hole… or when you cut 5 drives too far right, then continue to cut drives…. It seems like there is a lesson there worthy of review for you AND for us.

Rick, stop choking on your break 75 quest - I saw one of your vid's you did not want to post where you layed up from the bunker on 2nd hole i think - and then went like 6 over in no time. The hardest thing to do in golf is to completely forget about a bad shot and completely forget about shooting a certain number - we all know how hard golf is, right? We also need to realize how we are making it harder by dwelling on outcomes - trying to make up for a bad hole makes you press mentally and can affect your physical swing subconsicously. Example, you hit the ball left and then your group does the same thing or repeats basically the same shot you just made - golfers need to realize how emotions can affect your game. Every hole you play is a brand new hole, focus on that hole, not the last one. Take a moment to look at that brand new hole you want to conquer. Devise your plan to put your ball in the best positions to succeed and focus on executing the shot. You are not playing the last hole and you are not playing the next hole, stay on the current hole. If you want the best outcome have the most positive plan to achieve!

So pleased for Guy (despite him missing that last putt *insert head in hands/crying emoji*). Some great golf. Love his always positive attitude as well. Rick...you're clearly a talented golfer capable or shooting level par every time you go out, but it feels like you're defeated mentally before you go on the course and almost gets worse on the course with a lot of excuses and overthinking. I used to be the same. I learnt to let it all go and now feel so at ease on the coursel and when I'm out there, as frustrating as it can be, I'm grateful I get to play. Love all the videos. God bless

When your good iron shots go left and your thin ones go right, it's a clear indication that something is fundamentally wrong with your swing. For common golfers it's often a result of standing too close to the ball.

Rick! As something of a serious viewer I have identified where the Break 75 went south. During the round at St. Anne's GC, you skipped the Sausage Roll Rating and instead went with a Twix and Water! Rick, that needs to be corrected. I would highly recommend going back to the course and right this grievous wrong! (Ideally with your biggest fan from the states!!). Once this demon has been exorcised, a return to under 75 will follow!! Cheers! Matt
