Well, it was a bit more to it than this performance, but it certainly didn't help matters any. The industry just blamed him. It actually didn't really go off until later in the night. That's when things really broke loose, hours after these guys were off stage.

I was there. Food and water was way overpriced, toilets were over flowing, and the heat was crazy. I'd do it again it was a blast. Limp got the blame for it which was not fair to them. Chili Peppers started the actual riot with there cover of fire by hendrix and they got off scott free.

They came on around 4pm so people got crazy but it was nothing like when Korn came on around 9pm. That crowd was packed and it was anything goes now.

The festival didn't end until Sunday night. Korn came on and after Bush came on so things mellowed out. Also all this, was the first day Friday.

I was there a few rows infront of the main sound tower. Fred didn’t cause the burning of Rome, but he did provide the spark. Outrageous prices , even by 2024 standards. Not enough water for us to pay $5 a bottle for 16oz. Toilets flooding into rivers of piss and s***. All those things were built a giant pile of wood and gasoline. But Fred, he casually walked away and flicked his cigarette onto that pile and walked away without looking. I am glad I was there for the whole thing. Seeing a society of people (250k) devolve inside 2 days and explode was a hell of a thing to see first hand.

And when the Festival already was on fire it was chaos, even MTV ran out. The RHCP played Jimmy Hendrix's 'Fire' so who's the biggest instigator Fred Durst or the RHCP?

That documentary was extremely warped and unfair. The bands playing their hit songs isn't, wasnt and never will be the problem
