Today in my store Championship tournament, I lost versus a tempo/Midrange variation of this, which was really surprising. It farmed all the aggro decks in our tournament easily and out-tempoed other midrange decks like Emerald/Amethyst, Steel/Amethyst, and some Emerald/Steels. The list was like this: 4 Hook 3 Simba 4 Smee 4 Cogsworth (2 Mana) 3 Benja 3 Prince 3 Hercules (3 Mana) 3 Gramma Tala (4 Mana) 4 Tiana 4 Cogsworth (5 Mana) 4 Develop your Brain 1 Fire the Cannons 4 Ba-Boom! 4 Let The Storm Rage On 1 Rise of the Titans 3 Strength of a Raging Fire 4 Smash 2 And then along came Zeus 2 Grab your Sword No Beasts, no A Whole New Worlds, no Ramp, no big Bombs...just swarm, removal, good inkability, and resist to the max. What do you think of his list? Especially the Tiana really caught me off guard here. And if he has two Cogs out its over immediately as well, often even tempo-shifting one.

Im currently running 2 dimes to win easily vs RP and to have a chance vs RS. Other steel matchups are quite Easy to face so dimes get inked by fish without even being heavy on my hand, feels good tbh

Gaston Is a good tutor and he Is above medusa, but on the play belle Is way stronger, cuz if u play her the turn you wheel Ur quite likely to quest 5 next turn, if the wheel brings u a dime It s almost game, at t6

I'm running a 63-card list at the moment that's -1 Tala, -2 LIG, but +3 Gaston, +1 GYS, +1 Dime, +1 Hook. I've gotten 8 Lore against RP using Dime, and also had turns where I play Gaston, use Dime to get his +3 Lore right away to close out a game. Since RP isn't running any item removal, Dime feels safe. I'll see how it goes at Locals tonight, but I like Tala as an alt condition 1 of.

About to go to a tournament and am fine tuning my sapphire steel deck, RS is making me nervous ngl. How did this list turn out? I feel like Dime is the way forward against RP and RS

63 is bad. Unless your deck has a specific reason like Battle of Wits or Yorion, always play the minimum.

@@azarsgp I agree, I’ve been running the moyen deck essentially but I’m interested in hades, lucky dime, and let it go to help out with RA/RS, but 63 feels a bit rich. Unsure what to cut and trying to be wary of uninkabkes

I think Gaston is very strong, but performs poorly into the mirror when going 2nd. We'd rather Hades/LIG so that we can better control the Tempo.
