@JaysonSR that's what I was thinking as well but also a other major flaw would be the tank size. No way he would get more than 1 or 2 bars melted. Those torches last a while but getting steel to a melting point takes a while too when using that specific torch. All I'm saying is given the best case scenario it was still impossible. Next time he needs to bring something highly corrosive. I think that could at least get it weak enough to snap it.

@DeviouS yes but I don't know if they have liquid nitrogen or something like that around within 30 minutes that's why I figured we make the steel more pliable and then introduce shock with a sharp edge to take advantage of that increase in playability

Actually, if you heat steel that has carbon in it to a reddish temperature, then quench it with a lot of cold water it will become tempered, just like they thought, brittle. The problem is that they probably didn't get the rebar hot enough, and didn't cool it down fast enough either. The problem though is that the metal will actually be really hard even though it's brittle, but at least it would have a chance to snap.

Linex a lithe carbon fiber hybrid board. Remember fetty didn't chip one because it has the polymer around the ends. It would still actually be a practical board.

if he had made it more flat with the ground when hitting it and focused on one bar at a time it would have been better. it was bouncing off the ground too much when he hit it with the pick ax. he could have used the torch on one point of the bar till it was red hot then hit that spot it could have worked.
