1. Break now the bread of life, dear Lord, to me, as once you broke the loaves beside the sea. Beyond the sacred page I seek you, Lord; my spirit waits for you, O living Word. 2. Bless your own word of truth, dear Lord, to me, as when you blessed the bread by Galilee. Then shall all bondage cease, all fetters fall; and I shall find my peace, my All in all! 3. You are the bread of life, dear Lord, to me, your holy word the truth that rescues me. Give me to eat and live with you above; teach me to love your truth, for you are love. 4. O send your Spirit now, dear Lord, to me, that he may touch my eyes and make me see. Show me the truth made plain within your Word, for in your book revealed I see you, Lord.

Such a precious song to 1st hear sung by you, the day before our monthly Holy Communion service! So fitting for this occasion...."Break Thou the Bread of Life"... We have sung this song many times especially during the Holy Sacrament service. Thankful you sang in a slower and solemn manner which was so respectful! So beautiful to hear this God gifted voice without all the endless instruments this world provides. There is a fullness and focus on the words...the WORD being Christ Jesus...which is much more influential and powerful in the hearts of all people then the music which so often drowns out the words. I pray for this voice to continue in it's full richness!

You're not supposed to eat Jesus literally. That's cannibalism. When Jesus told you to eat his flesh and drink his blood he meant it spiritually. You Catholics need to open up a King James Bible and read it because everything you do goes against Scripture.

@@luisb3426 1 Corinthians 11:23-29 KJV For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: [24] And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. [25] After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. [26] For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. [27] Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. [28] But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. [29] For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
@ronnym19772 жыл бұрын
@@luisb3426 They call it "transubstantiation" They actually believe the bread and the contents of the cup turn into actual flesh and blood. They also believe that if a non catholic takes the "holy eucharist" then the emblems are tainted and transubstatiation will not occur. This is also why you hear of catholics being denied communion as a sinner who has not been to the confessional and recieved "absolution" by some holier than thou clown behind a screen wearing a black dress will also "taint" the emblems.

I shared with a new brother in Christ who was baptized last week and wants to learn the hymns so he can go and sing praises to God with brethren to the shut ins and those in assisted living and convalescent homes.This will be a help and encouragement to him. May you continue to glorify God in your service to him in Christ Name. Numbers 6:24

Love this hymn and it's presentation here. He does a fantastic job! i might quibble with one change to the lyrics. i.e. "beyond the sacred page I seek thee" has been changed to "within the sacred page i seek thee". The intent seems to be to honor the scriptures but it misses the beauty of the original thought which finds true worshipers seeking beyond even the now revealed. The original reflects all Christians' as-yet unrealized hopes.
