First time listener. I am uncomfortable in the cycle of drinking😩 Woke up this morning talking to the Lord about it once again. Opened KZbin and here you are! I have been around this mountain so many times and I don’t want to die in this wilderness. I love what Lisa said about dreaming your way into the future. I’ve started that in my journaling and spending some more time praying in the Spirit. Looking forward to some practical wisdom to break this cycle!! My addiction is to God❣️❤️‍🔥🔥

Praying for you, I was in the same place almost 8 months ago… daily drinking for 7-8 years and felt so stuck and hopeless. I started attending Celebrate Recovery at my church and it changed my life. I couldn’t go a day without drinking and now I’m almost 8 months sober. Accountability, community, and transparency about my addiction helped me break free. God hasn’t delivered me from temptation but I rely on Him every day to help me starve my addiction. I encourage you to check it out, celebrate recovery is country-wide and an amazing resource. It’s a forever family of mutually broken people who show up for each other to help break these cycles!! God Bless you!

This is so needed! I believe one reason many feel trapped is because, they sincerely do not know how to change patterns on a practical level. If they are in a toxic, controlling, narcissistic or abusive marriage it is difficult because of the controlling and their spirit being broken. There is a need for healing in order to change patterns sometimes. How does a woman, with children, change patterns that is in an emotionally, mentally, psychologically, mind games, narcissistic relationship change patterns with a "Christian" husband who wants to keep her in these patterns. Many women end up staying in these relationships stuck in these patterns they desperately want to get out of while standing in faith, on the word, praying, fasting, declaring, annointing, forgiving 70×7, repaying evil with kindness, walking in love and the fruits of the spirit etc. They hear how God hates divorce. They end up at doormats as they "turn the other cheek" and forgive over & over. The church does not address this. Can you address this and share practical ways to help these women (or men) with patterns they have no way of controlling because the spouses want to keep them there. Most sermons are targetted towards healthy loving families. Please address this for the many who are truly stuck and want to change the patterns & cycles of abuse. Please also address, did Jesus have boundaries? Did Jesus preach boundaries when he said turn the other cheek, pray for them, forgive over & over, give them your cloak etc. Thanku so much for adressing so much that is not preached and for speaking the truth..❤

Wow you described my circumstances exactly .. apart from I would say my husband believes in Jesus but isn't a Christian or born again. We have finally separated for 18 months but I'm still stuck in the toxic cycle as he won't end the marriage... no Christian wants to advocate divorce but there really is little biblical teaching on addressing these types of marriages

You sound like me. I’ve been married for 25 years to a Christian and we have 3 children together but he is an extremely unhealthy person - verbally abusive. I couldn’t take it anymore and went to theophostics - inner healing prayer. I had to get healed of my past and get healthier and stronger so I could leave because he wasn’t even with his disgust of me. He was diagnosed with narcissism and I’ve been encouraged by many leaders that I should go. I recieved a ton of healing from my own past and now my identity in the lord is stronger. I have filed for divorce and I’m in the middle now. I had to also deal with lies that if I was strong enough and had enough faith I should stay and god would heal him and our marriage. I don’t believe god would have his children stay in abuse, wether emotional or physical. I pray you would find a way out of this toxic situation.

@melmisquitta9960
@melmisquitta9960 Жыл бұрын
@@bella_greenbean441 wow! That was such a brave move. How do you feel now? Do you feel like chains have been broken? And how is your husband doing? I also have 3 children which I think is exactly why I'm stuck in this awful cycle and haven't broke free. I have been believing in God as He is a redeemer but I have also recently begged Him for a way out. I applied for a divorce but my husband wouldn't sign it and believes we're married for life, regardless how we feel today. He doesn't realise the impact the abuse has, he lacks self control so goes too far when he's agitated and no matter how much iv tried loving on him, it hasn't changed anything unfortunately. If anything he now views me as weak and I get it 10x worse by feeling like I can't defend myself, have to forgive him no matter the sin and have to be available to him whenever he decides. I desperately want it to get better but I am just Spiritually crushed. I haven't met one believer that has encouraged divorce, even church elders that have been concerned for our safety, have simply encouraged distance and prayer! I don't know if this is right or not and I'm not sure if they know themselves. It is amazing to hear your story, bless you. Thank you so much for sharing that with me, it has really encouraged me. Do you feel today that God has a much bigger brighter plan for your life?

This week I heard 30 obstacles that can interrupt you from hearing from God. What stood out to me was cycles is an obstacles. Then I see your podcast in my news feed talking about break up with toxic cycles. I'm listening and taking notes because currently I'm breaking up with a cycles and yoke with a behavior pattering which attempts to put me into bondage. John Bevere mention the same scripture my teacher spoke in Deuteronomy 2:3 with the children of Israel circling the mountain enough. This is meant for me to hear. Going on to part 2 of this discussion. Thank You very much

I've once lived in the cycle of depression and was constantly trying to be happy with things that doesn't bring happiness and that was really disappointing. I felt like I wasn't enjoying my life and I didn't know that actually the best of my life was yet to come until I read Isaiah 43 18-19. Sitting in my armchair going through my destructive cycle came across this...I have been married for 15 years and my husband keeps telling me how I don't trust him that I behave as if I'm living with an enemy and that everything bothers me and when I tell him even if I'm right about what I'm saying I am rude and cold and treat him as my enemy...I never noticed because I thought I did have to protect myself from him specifically because he's a bit controlling and not a Christian and therefore goes against some things I believe...lately I have been noticing my pattern that I am sick I fear everyone..I fear engaging or having deep relationship with people...I've been seeking the Lord and fasting every Monday since January please pray for me too. Do you do any counseling I need it badly and am all alone in Italy. Thank you!

Thank you John and Lisa… this video brought to my attention the Mountain from my past, that I unknowingly found my way back to. Although God helped me conquer it years ago, over the last few years, I have allowed behaviours I recognized from my, long ago past, to cause the same Cycle in my present.
