I RAN this movie all summer when it came out-we had a line as wide as the sidewalk and down a full block on Woodward Avenue in Detroit (yeah, there were still a few neighborhood theaters there in 1984) for most of the show's run. The only thing nuttier was the "celebration" when the Tigers took the World Series that fall.

Each generation brings in a new style of music. Little Richard, james brown, elvis presley, the beatles, the rolling stones on and on. Little Richard and elvis had to put up with loads of criticism. Finally dignity was given to little Richard and elvis but they had to put up with a lot. Hugs to all. May music 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🇺🇸 live forever.

This is a great example of ozone, turbo and kelly standing up for what they believe in and making the people at the theater stage realize that music is music, any style of music and it should be appreciated by the people who represent it. Ozone stood his ground by showing the people there that we are people who have a different type of music, but dont discriminate against someone for doing what they love. Give someone a chance to prove that their type of music is just as important as anyone else's music. You don't never know what someone can do if you don't let them show you their talent. Everyone is talented in their own way so let their talent shine and who knows what can happen. The people who shunned you might actually end up needing you in their group and hopefully everything works out for the best for everyone!

@@patriciacolombini6567 Musical genius really maxed out in the 1970s though. Wasn't around then but just from what I've heard, the ingenuity, the number of instrumental arrangements played, the vocal talents... Then the eighties came around and there was a huge drop in complexity of the musical arrangements and a major shift in the soundscape with synthesizers making up a larger part of the eighties sound.

Memories ! Man i remember going to the movies to watch this,,the dance scenes were dope. The story line a bit corny, but who cares,,it was about the jams and breaking,,It was an awsome era to be part of. I,m in my 50,s and will occasionally make an atttempt to make a few popping moves at a wedding ,lol,,its in my blood.

Omgoodness!💔He was definitely my crush as a teenager, true heartthrob💙Shabba Doo you will certainly be missed! 😪So busy with life, I felt a pull for months to watch break dance movies/clips, the same unction to watch DMX movies prior to his passing.... covid has made things crazy for everyone, let's take time out honour each other while there's breath in our lungs. RIP Adolfo, a true dance legend!🙏🏾

Men! This movie was something else, I was a breakdancer and up until now can’t forget this damn thing. Me and my friends go outa clubs, Peter Funk, Erry Texas, Jeffrey Jones etc and we called ourselves street boys with those disco belts. Feel like yesterday!
