Wow! The engines do sound really aggressive! The man buses I find are a lot more calmer

Love the way as the alternator bracket spanned the driver instantly knew that something was wrong as stopped. Good judgement as good driving demonstrated here, as well as a driver who understands what a kickdown does!

I remember a Streetlite breaking down and making a noise just like this. Reminded me of this video straightaway.

Sounds great with the belts screeching :)

I wish the gearbox was fitted to more buses like the Dart SLF, early Optare Solo's etc. Does sort of a ZF kickdown at 2.40 and 2.56. We had a few mk1 Excel's down here and some of them were pretty fast.

What transmission does this have? Nice vid, love the sound (of the engine :'D)

I would guess that it's an Allison AT545. Definitely an Allison gearbox but not certain as to which one.

Allison World Series.

@@jaggass awful gearboxes. Give me a Bristol RE with a leyland 680 in it and a semi-auto. Proper tunes then

@@cidertom5140 I grew up riding on Bristol VR's, Olympian's etc and drivers hammered them.

No wonder it broke down with a driver like this.

Sounded rough from the beginning

Thats because of the roof cover has been removed.
@NorthEastbuses018 жыл бұрын
Exactly lol, it's just cos the inspection hatch was removed to hear the engine better. The screeching belts just sounded way louder because of cover being off
