my 1990 RV has been an endless cycle of fix it, go camping, fix it, go camping. It's a 20' Champion Transvan with the Ford 460, no cab over. It's got lots of power and a seamless one piece fiberglass roof. It's got all the stuff: water heater, furnace, sink, propane refrig, shower, toilet, generator, wood cabinets. I've had it for 10 years, driven it 60k miles and between the Ford chassis and the camper stuff, I don't think there's a thing I haven't fixed, some multiple times now. But it's so easy to drive and everything works when I leave, something always breaks.

I admire your posititve attitude about repairs with your RV. 💥 Some days, problems pop up 24/7/365; no matter our lifestyle. Getting mad/upset/creating drama just drains our energy. Finding humor in a situation coverts stress into positive energy. (Some RV-ing YT'ers entire channels are nothing but "woe-is-me-drama". They need to get off the road, imo.) Happy Trails, Jerry!

Yep, They look great when new but are built so shoddy no matter what the make. I think the way to go is bus conversions and no slides. Better quality.

This is the video that I needed to see and thank you for sharing. I understand fully your trials and tribulations keeping the 36G on the road. Winnebago is actually replaced our seating twice to resolve the peeling surfaces issue. last time was three years ago, keep your fingers crossed… Safe travels, Jerry

Long ago someone asked you if you had many problems with your RV, you simply said something like "It is constant" . I don't know why but your reply made me LOL. I like the fact that you really use your RV and don't seem to let the damage and repairs slow you down. Since retiring we spend the majority of our time on the road. We are now home for 2 months before our next trip when we will be out for 4 months. While home I have spent about $4000.00 on repairs (slides) and upgrades (carpet and Naugahide replacement), thankfully I can do most of the work myself. I am going to replay this video for my wife later. Please keep up the good work!

Jerry, I remember when you bought the motor home. We were camping when you first took ownership and your big slide wouldn't close all the way then. Time to park it and become a full time cruiser onboard the cruise ships.

Well -I have a 2023 Newmar Dutch Star ⭐️-And it has had nothing but problems-We are already cancelling some campgrounds so that we can once again head to the dealership 🤯 I don’t know if we will continue to preserve in this lifestyle-It just gets old dealing with these Motorhomes ⭐️🚌🇺🇸

Get A Safari diesel they hold up a lot better. Yes many things will break as they do. But the most robust coaches break less.

Slides are the biggest complaint I hear from other RV owners. And if a slide gets stuck in the "out" position, you then have a major problem.

So sorry to hear Jerry. I went to Michigan last summer. Bopped around a few parks. One time. I was blowing black smoke out of the exhaust. Went on the Internet to ask what that meant. One, said. Injectors may be dirty. "Put some injector cleaner in". Did that. On my way to my next waypoint. Exhaust was blowing white smoke. Hum, I thought. Called a Cummins dealer and they told me to bring it in . One or more injectors may be bad. Closest one "dealer" was about forty miles away. Lucky. So I drove to Toledo Ohio to the Cummins dealer. To Make a long story short. Fifteen days later and $14,000.00 in poorer. One injector broke off and scared the cylinder head, the wet slave, and the piston. Like you said. Shit happens. Excuse the comment. But I wouldn't trade this life for nothing else. Basically have a new engine though. 😂

I have had only one problem with my engine where it gave false low oil pressure signals so it would drive only very slow, but got that fixed pretty quick.

Jerry, we have 55,000 on my 2020 Horizon. Not much broken. You got your money’s worth. Not many RVs make it to 120,000 miles.

Vroom can fix your slides but its $3000 for each one

I will pay $150 an hour but that is it
@FrankBullitt3905 ай бұрын
@@jerrydixon $3000 isn't bad if its a full wall slide, they remove all the factory junk and replace it with their more robust system. People say they're so reliable you can sit there and put it in and out for fun.
