Sir, if i know total required sales(number of sales mixes), variable costs of each product and also number of each product to be sold..,then can i find sales price at which each product would be sold to reach breakeven point? Of course , Target profit is again zero here.

Hello, why is there a target profit in the break even formula?
@RexJacobsen6 жыл бұрын
Hi Gabriel, when calculating a breakeven point, the target profit is zero (no profit, no loss). So we use zero as the target profit.

Hi, I think that this number came from the task itself!

Sales mix 3:2. How?
@RexJacobsen6 жыл бұрын
The original sales mix was 6,000 cat beds to 4,000 scratching posts. To simplify this, you could divide both by 1,000 to get a sales mix of 6 to 4, or 6:4. You could then simplify it further by dividing both by 2 to get a sales mix of 3 to 2 (3:2). This means out of 5 units sold (3 + 2), 3 are cat beds and 2 are scratching posts. You can also think of it as 60% (3 divided by 5) cat beds and 40% (2 divided by 5) scratching posts.
@cebo31156 жыл бұрын
Rex Jacobsen .. Thank for your response..I understand when using the percentage not the other format. So what if cat beds is 10000 and scratching posts is 8000.
@RexJacobsen6 жыл бұрын
That would be 10,000:8,000 or 10:8 or 5:4, meaning, out of 9 items sold, 5 will be cat beds, 4 will be scratching posts. Percentage-wise, 55.6% (10,000/18,000, or 10/18, or 5/9) will be cat beds.
