Good grief - that was a huge bluegill. Cannot belief that chick gulped it down whole. I mean, an eagle or osprey would have to have it chopped up by Mom and handed to them in small pieces before they could eat it and not choke, but these dudes just pack it down like it was nothing!

Mom gave 3 fish and only one of them were able to eat all of them. That's why the other chick is still complaining at the end of the video. He didn't get to eat any fish. He needs to eat faster or else he will not get any food.

The smaller one got the better strategy. He ate first the small fish and then stole the big fish from his older sibling.

Arlene I know one of baby herons died and mom carried off but didn't this nest start off with 4 baby Herons? Did another baby heron die too? I love Great Blue Herons I have a family in my backyard here in Florida I cant imagine living somewhere without all the herons around me. Thanks for sharing your videos as always.
