It looks so beautiful there in Alaska. I purchase the big green funnel. At first I thought, what am I going to do with this thing? However, I am so glad I have it now. I place a plate under the jar or bag, place the funnel in jar or bag and usually depending on texture I just slowly pour and guide contents into vessel. I purchased a paint brush to sweep all bits into container and then what is on the plate as well. I hope this helps. Have a great trip! From Ontario, Canada.

Oh that sounds like it would be so good! Yeah we arrived yesterday and it’s hot but I’m happy to feel some warmth 😂😂 my kids keep saying how hot it is they sure aren’t acclimated like they used to be haha

I just got my replacement door for my black medium HR it’s the one the dog yanked off the counter ! Running a batch of candy now to see if it works! The unit fell on the floor and dented two corners on the hinge side of the machine !

Yes you could use whatever oatmeal variety you like and freeze dry it! Even the pre packaged flavored ones

This works great with steel cut oats, too. Apple cinnamon is wonderful.However they dont last long they turn rancid after a year. I like to eat them as a snack.

I have a question a little off topic here. I recently purchased a freeze dryer and have noticed that there is ice behind the rubber seal throughout the freeze drying process. And then it melts and drips during the entire process. Is this normal?

I think it means you might not be getting a proper seal….. but I’m not totally sure I haven’t had that problem before. I’d give a call to customer service they are so helpful with questions like that!

Thanks for your response. I have spoken to customer service and my experience has been not good. They told me this was normal but everyone I know that had a machine does not have this problem. Guess I will reach out to them again. Thanks for your help. Love your videos BTW.

Harvest right freeze drying company actually discourage the oil less pumps. They themselves say save your money.

Cold oatmeal?!? You’re weird! 😂 I have a problem with “eye” talk and couldn’t handle listening to you describe your little one’s ordeal or what the spot was as I fast forwarded past it and returned to watching when I saw her in bed afterwards. I was surprised to see you had Brian’s (I WON’T say his channel’s name because I’ve seen some of his videos turn into commercials for his supply site and that bugs me) bag holder but you didn’t use his separators for meal portions. I have bought some sideways meal pouches from John-in-Bibs’ store and they are amazing. They would be so much of a saver of space as the bags are gusseted and made to withstand holding water for rehydration. Eating directly from them will save a lot of space and “clean up” time. I know you’re practically in your trip already and it’s too late for you, but watching you use the jars I thought about you packing empty jars for your flight (I hope you aren’t carrying jars on the flight and will be buying some things in AZ). While some of the ingredients used makes me sick 🤢 to hear, I know you like them and that’s ok for you! I would never use protein powder or whey or whatever it was. The flavors sound great 👍! Are these oatmeal MRE’s just for you? It didn’t sound like it was more than a few meals and there are 5 of you. Will you be restaurant-ing along the way 🤔? I’m sure there are some nice cafes and diners that could use the business (or are you driving as fast as possible to get back before the FD’d food runs out?). Have FUN!!
