BREAKFAST WITH ELEPHANTS IN CHIANG MAI THAILAND (Chai Lai Orchid)

This has to be one of the best elephant homestay experience we've done so far. This place is called Chai Lai Orchid and is located about 1.3hrs away from the Chiang Mai center. We booked an Airbnb stay for a night which included a "morning call". You'll be waking up to a beautiful elephant right outside of your bungalow! Totally recommend this place for anyone looking to have a great experience with elephants.

We haven't tried the mountain view, but we can say one thing. If you dont want to hear the sound of the river throughout the night then I'd say mountain view. Either the river can be soothing to you or itll keep you up all night.

We were here during the month of January. There is no safe there. You basically just keep your money with you. Any shoes should be fine on the hike as long as its not a slip-on or sandals.

Air temps in the mountains are usually cold during the nights, so I would suggest bringing some extra clothes to keep you warm through the night.

Thank you for the birthday wish! Temperature is still somewhat cool in early morning and night so you can sleep just fine. It gets humid throughout the day. It's currently winter season, however I believe the season is going to be over soon. Burning season is happening soon.

Do you have to get permission to fly your drone in Thailand?

In general, you will need to register your drone to be able to fly it in thailand. I don't have mine registered, but I did ask for permission before flying my drone. It's always good to ask if you're unsure whether you can fly a drone or not.
