Breakfast with John and Blanche Bickerson

COLUMBIA released two LPs in the '60's called THE BICKERSONS and THE BICKERSONS FIGHT BACK, which they eventually turned into a two record set. These weren't taken from old radio shows, but instead were done on location and recorded in stereo. Blanche in one speaker, John in the other gives you the feeling they're fighting right in front of you! All the reissues I've heard have been released in mono. It takes a lot out of it.

I was a kid when I first heard The Bickersons. We were on a camping trip, back when you could still camp in tents, and my mom had a battery operated record player, and she put on The Bickersons. We were laughing so much we were kicked out of the campground. They said we were disturbing the other campers. lol. Fond memories.

We had a bunch of old radio shows like this on cassette tapes when I was little, and my family loved listening to them on road trips. I remember this "episode," has alot of good quotes in it. "Go on eat it, don't bury it in your sandbox!"

Before The Honeymooners, in a way I Love Lucy, The Flintstones, Father knows best, Donna Reed Show, The Jetsons, The Roman Holidays, Wait til your father gets home, in a way Bewitched, Married with Children, Dinosaur!, The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, Love American Style, The Jeffersons, Maude, Good Times, All in the Family, The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Family Guy, American Dad, The PJs, Malcolm in the Middle, Bob's Burgers, Bless this House, Duncanville and The Cleveland Show there was The Bickersons, Phil Harris and Alice Faye and The Great Gildersleeve the three shows that made all the sitcoms we know today.

@Teewriter yes I didn't think of them. I never read much of their comics, and I only watched one of their movies. But yes Dagwood is another example of that circle and branches of connected sitcoms.
