Envy needs to understand what globally means. Jay might own the Brooklyn Nets, but that doesn't really mean anything outside the US. Most people who's not tuned into the culture of hip-hop knows Jay as Beyoncé's husband, unfortunately. The biggest rappers globally are as Charlamagne said; Snoop and 50 Cent.
@MrBommelicous7 жыл бұрын
As someone from europe the only names that are big internationally is 1 snoop 2 eminem 3 50 cent. Hov doesnt come close to these names.
@SDG.127 жыл бұрын
I agree 50 cent and Snoop are the two most famous rappers worldwide. But dont underestimate Jay's recognition. Jay is a pop culture icon worldwide too. I would say the most recognized hip hop personalities in the world are 1)50 2)Snoop 3)Eminem 4)Kanye 5)Drake. No. 6 would be either Lil Wayne or Jay.
@devyvalentino7 жыл бұрын
...Base on Hit records.
@bdav81027 жыл бұрын
No Jay Z is not a pop icon. Jay is big in the north people in the south don't really follow him or care about him as much as NY and up north people. Globally he is not highly recognized. When he was in Europe with Beyonce people were literally walking past him to take pictures of Beyonce. Hov sells people this illusion that he is bigger than what he really is. His platform made it outside of rap because of Beyonce. He like 50 years old still rapping. There is a reason for that.
@tp387 жыл бұрын
Really? I dont know, i think JayZ is pretty well known...

I love uncle snoop!! Listen I am 39 years old I grew up on Zamora AVE in THE WATTS Los Angeles to this day I remember that address because of all the stuff I have seen! I was there until the age of 12 and was relocated to NJ. Watching uncle snoop brings back so many memories of my childhood in THE WATTS ❤️❤️❤️❤️ HE IS A TRUE LEGEND!!!!

+Kurt Allen I dunno how much you know about hip hop as a whole, but Jay's brands/business eats nearly everyone on that list. Man's been relevant for 20 years. Not many people IN MUSIC can make that claim
