@DamienGWilson
@DamienGWilson 3 ай бұрын
@@CandieTalks That’s not saying much if that’s what you’re using to compare him to MJ. Things were much harder in MJ’s era. For example, MJ and other artists of his era didn’t have the capability to record and release music nowhere near as fast and as cheap as artists can nowadays. And for that reason, artists in MJ’s era dropped albums and then toured for a year or more for that single album. It was rare for artists to drop more than one album per year in MJ’s era, at least in the beginning to middle of his career. Even still, I don’t care what these music charts say nowadays. Chris Brown still can’t go song for song with MJ. The point is don’t confuse the modern conveniences afforded to artists nowadays as a clear-cut matrix for comparing them to artists of past generations.

Breezy is TALENTED....But part of me feels that he's the closest to MJ only when it comes to performing. Now to this generation, he's the closest to MJ as far as the ENTERTAINMENT side. When ppl speak of MJ, it goes beyond just his entertainment and music and ppl tend to forget this when they constantly mention CB in comparison because they'll realize the gaps that are missing in this comparison. You have to talk about the cultural reach that MJ had to ALL cultures!! I'm sorry but Breezy's fanbase is pretty one-dimensional (majority of his fanbase being Black women). When talking about MJ, you also have to talk about how big of an "humanitarian" he was!! Hell, he wrote about this on many of his songs. You have to talk about his ICONIC videos along with the lyrics that told a story (Thriller, Smooth Criminal, Scream and more). You have to talk about his signature style of dance (and moonwalk) that helped turn him into this huge brand!! MJ started many trends. All of these factors equates to the MONSTER IMPACT that MJ had on ALL cultures of ppl. Fans passing out at his shows is proof of that. We ain't just talkin' about having the biggest bops with the most features. There are many factors that goes into one reaching the level of Michael Jackson and there is NO ONE in the industry who has hit ALL of the marks that he did..lol. (Heavy emphasis on "all" of those marks). It's more than just popularity.

MJ no but his career would have reached higher heights. Remember right when that incident happened social media and all this other new stuff was blowing up. It would’ve been an opportunity for him to grow in popularity. He had to take several steps back, revamp his image and try and recover some of his popularity.wow, his career rebounded if he never had to bounce back in the first place, he could’ve been someplace much higher today

I'm in my 40s so I've watched both. MJ as a solo artist. I've been a big fan of CB since Run it. Chris is by far the closest thing I've seen to MJ. I'm so happy the lady in the video said Usher has those same moves he had since the mid 90s when he came out. He's a choreographed dancer, Chris is pure talent like MJ. No one can compare to MJ...he was a global icon and entertainer like no one we've seen. However Chris has that "it" factor also. He's the modern day, R&B version of MJ. MJ 2.0. MJ was more so a Pop artist. Without the rihanna incident CB would have bleeded over to Pop I believe. "With you" song, right before the incident, he looked like he was following in MJs footsteps for sure

I agree with Joe perspective in the understanding that before him and rih happened he had a very good reputation was well loved he was squeaky clean. But I also think chris saw things differently after his altercation with rih. And he decided to let m.j remain his musical inspiration and the talent he admired and honed his own talent through. He told big boy m.j was the one he got his sauce from for his own style .He doesn't want to be a copy of m.j he wants his own lane. We need to move past this comparison. Mike was his own artist but chris is his own talent. And a original. So respectfully to Joe chris is his own artist with a big talent display that can be compared to some of or many of the industry greats.

Well no one can be MJ but I do think Chris Brown would’ve been the biggest star of the 2010’s if not for that incident. Chris had dance moves that we hadn’t seen before. He had excellent stage presence and the ladies loved him. He could also sing, rap, & write. But his image was forever tarnished after that incident.

Facts! He would be the next MJ but his true fans like myself gonna hold him down cause everyone makes mistakes and he was young and in love if RiRi can forgive and be friends and move on the world needs to! He is a an amazing performer and believes in his craft and the only one still doing it all these years we appreciate him!

Michael Jackson wouldn’t need a Michael Jackson towards the end, so how are you comparing Chris Brown Chris Brown really could dance Michael Jackson only done the moonwalk kick his leg in the air and pulled his Crouch and I’m 63 he live he older than me. Chris Brown is a dancer Michael Jackson was a entertainer he couldn’t do runs, he Sang His Way, Chris Brown sings his way down 10 toes if it was Chris Brown, Bobby Brown, and his day was a good dancer and I will put him up there with Michael Jackson. I put Michael Jackson up too high. He only did a couple of steps he moonwalk stroll down some Jeffrey Daniels Kicked his leg in the ass, spent around hollered out and it held his couch. Brown is a dancer he is a dancer and he’s a singer when you get through at the end of the day 10 toes down a lot of people would agree with me and Jackson is just like any other family daddy cheated on the mother brother had children by the other brothers girlfriend, it was a dysfunctional family and Janet can sing and I remember when I had to teach her how to dance when she first came on fame so you cut all that comparing people to comparing people because it is no comparison Chris Brown is in a league of his own him and Cierra, dance ! and Michael Jackson has three moves the moonwalk spinning around, kicking his leg up and pulling his couch. What other dances do Michael Jackson do? He ain’t no tap dancer he wouldn’t slide across the stage doing all in flips like Chris Brown does I can go back-and-forth all day long. Y’all need to open the line up and talk about this and let people call in . Ciara and CB dance beautifully together. I don’t know a team to dance like him And her

What all do respect there is a big difference between Chris Brown Michael Jackson and usher because Michael Jackson made history Not just a black artist but is a artist in general has 834 awards and usher has 351awards Chris Brown has 202 that right there says it all usher has way more than seven dance moves there's only a few artists that can say I performed in front of the first black president of the United States which is usher Raymond is as for Chris Brown no one has ever been able to flip and kick and do all that he does while singing rip MJ has done it all he clearly made a way for all of them and as for Christopher Maurice Brown you are using an excuse about what happened to one of his ex is disgusting two not give him his flowers you're just upset because you don't want to give him his props which is wrong

Only in America would anyone even think to compare Chris Brown to MJ. No one would ever think that outside of the US. MJ was at one time the most famous person in the world after the queen. Not even entertainer, just person. He has the best selling album of any music album EVER. He appealed to people young and old and known on all corners of the globe, even in remote areas, literally mobbed wherever he went, he was in a completely different stratosphere to CB. There is no way in hell CB, was , is or ever will be on that level. Vocally and in terms of music catalogue CB is also literal dosgsh*t next to MJ. Even as an entertainer and dancer, being able to do backflips and krump is not the same as Michael studying the greatest dancers in history and constructing a ground breaking hybrid dance style and choreography that incorporated elements from all of them and was revered by some of the greatest dancers of all time across all genres. Even Chris Brown himself acknowledges he is not on Mikes level, people need to stop making these stupid comparisons.
