Issa had the opportunity to mediate the situation, but instead, her approach created division and escalated tensions. Allowing her publicist to remove someone undermines the professional environment and shows a lack of respect for working relationships. I understand she didn’t know when it happened, but she should have reprimanded her publicist and asked her to apologize to Amanda the minute she learned about this. Relying on a publicist for such a personal decision suggests a disconnect from her leadership responsibilities. Actions like this can harm relationships and create a toxic work atmosphere, setting a precedent that personal issues can interfere with professional obligations-which it clearly did. Such behavior raises questions about her ability to manage relationships.

Amanda thought they were friends and Issa showed her with how she handled the situation that not only were they not friends that she also didn't value her enough as an employee to stand up for her and make things right. Because why in tf would you allow someone who basically has said they don't like this person for whatever reason to leave it up to them to mediate? As problematic as Amanda Seales is, I honestly think she was actually the more mature one in this case. The publicist Vanessa had no right to be petty towards an employee, she should’ve been able to attend the party or notified of why she wasn’t invited before the event to keep down drama. Vanessa caused a lot of drama over being a petty immature mean girl instead of a professional woman. Issa is passive aggressive and as the boss she should’ve stepped in and squashed it. Now she is mad because Amanda called her out on a podcast but she wasn’t mad at her publicist for starting the drama? Poor look all around.

Issa tried to make it seem like Amanda act light skin because she is but really it’s Issa that is passive aggressive and acts light skin even though she not. She’s not direct or upfront about the situation. @TamESQАй бұрын
I commend Issa for all her success and I’m a dark-skinned woman myself, but I agree with everything you’re saying. I think issa doesn’t like Amanda and yes, I do believe it has to do with Amanda being light-skinned. When Amanda asked Issa what she had against her, Issa’s answer was “I guess I felt like you’re just like your character.” Mind you, Amanda’s character is the light-skinned friend with a husband and baby… while Issa’s character is the one struggling with her love life. So, as much success as she’s garnered, it seems Issa still may struggle with having negative feelings towards light-skinned women. She didn’t step in when her publicist mistreated Amanda because “that’s between you guys and not me.” It’s because Issa doesn’t like Amanda as well, but is too cowardly to admit that because she has a “I’m a nice girl who uplifts all black women” image to uphold.
