I’m over 50 and my mom gave me the same advice, to date, as Tasha mentioned. Mom said, “you don’t have to have sex with everyone, but it’s important to date. I didn’t listen tho. My husband and I have been together since I was 18. I think we could’ve identified and resolved a lot of our issues along the way, quicker, had I dated more b/c I would’ve been able to articulate what I wanted and needed earlier on and more efficiently due to having more experience with different people. Great advice, I think.❤ Great show.

What Tasha Smith says about dating is real. As women, we should date more until we find the perfect partner for us. The issue is that men tend to judge women when they do so. Which is unfortunate. But that is reality. When I first started going out on dates when I was younger, my first dates ended up being toxic & immature. If I would've stuck with them just for the sake of being in a relationship, I would've been freaking miserable today.
@RamoBlast Жыл бұрын
Tasha Smith spoke from the heart
@vante9588 Жыл бұрын
If this is the paradigm then wouldn't it be the wisest for a woman to not date around until she has a better understanding of herself giving her the best chance to be able to judge man's character without giving herself up to men than don't deserve her? Like men play the numbers and volume game, so wouldn't it be more effective to do the opposite as a woman to counter balance this?
@Ms76Cocoa Жыл бұрын
@@vante9588dating doesn’t equate to “giving herself up to men”, as in sex. If that’s what you mean. You can date and not have sex. Dating is getting to know someone. Another way I’ve heard it said is dating is gathering data about a person. Date first to determine if you want to be in a relationship with them.
@vante9588 Жыл бұрын
@@Ms76Cocoa ahh okay I see your point on that. Let me clarify. I'm not saying it fully equates to it, but I am saying it's part a of dating for most people. Especially in the USA of now. I think the strategy she speaks of is hard to execute as a woman because most men will assume that the same guys that you collected data from also got your body at some point too anyways. This is because that's the culture these days, so men's general assumptions will align with that whether it's true or false. Like If a woman goes on many dates she is perceived as promiscuous and will be treated as such EVEN if she truly isn't. The same way a man with a 96 civic will be perceived as broke even if he is truly wealthy. Unfortunately perception overrides everything at face value. I have a daughter and I really try to give this deep thought to be able to help guide her to a respectable man in the future if that's what she wants. So I lead by example by treating my wife like the way I would want a man to treat my daughter so her baseline model is that. BUT unfortunately life isn't as simple as this, but it's my best chance for her in the future.
@Ms76Cocoa Жыл бұрын
@vante9588 Unfortunately, sometimes you can't win for losing. I realize "dating" means different things to different people. I'm just supporting the thought of the original commenter on dating until you meet someone you are in alignment with, as opposed to just jumping into a relationship. To each their own on what people choose to do with their bodies, but dating does not equal sex for everyone. Thanks for the respectful dialogue.
