All your trick shots are genuine because you are a real snooker player. This makes your videos genuine and high quality. Keep them coming. Especially the recreation of professional player's shots at tournaments. And the cue tip placement picture is very helpful. Thank you. Auckland NZ.

Tried a Jimmy White Style shot last night at the club. Down to the colours, I was snookered behind the brown near the green pocket needed to get to the yellow just past the right middle, attempted the swerve shot and just hit the jaw of the middle pocket, was a lot closer than I thought I would get, gave away the points for a foul but I was happy to get so close. Massé is the French adjective for massage which comes from carambole billiards (carambolage mean car pile up crash). And that is one tough cue sport. Try the three cushion version! Gorgeous but insane!

I play the impossible cushion shot in nearly every frame I play, definitely every match. I'm glad you covered the cue ball jumping over the struck object ball being a foul. The tutorial on masse shots is very usefuI; I think I've been hitting the cue ball too thick, for bridge stability try using the American dart shot (it's a type of jump shot, usually a close short jump) method of putting elbow against your rib cage.

I also always either cut or long double (depends whether the table is pro-cut or club cut; I wouldn't try the long double on a club cut table) the black on every repotted black I play first on probably get it 7/10 times.

Avoid masse shots at all times unless it's your own table. You will stuff up the cloth and the club owner won't like it. So be respectful on other people's table.

Recovering a pool table is so much cheaper than recovering a snooker table. It's best to keep masse shots to the pub pool table! Plus, it's actually easier to play with a pub broomstick cue than with your precious snooker cue (as long as it has a decent tip on it) because of the stiffer cue and smaller cue ball.

I use the here so called 'side reversing' all the time. It is helpful to know the effect when playing safe off the pack whem the cueball is close to the pack (opponent safety by rolling up, or unfortunate split attempt by myself). Then one can play a thin clip/cut off a red, cueball to baulk, and use the effect to swerve the cueball behind a baulk color.

In the early 1970's attempting a Bob Massey was all the rage where I played. Bob wasn't really that successful as a professional snooker player but at least he has a shot named after him. Other shot popular in the 70's was a Perrie Mans, full table shot with screw back to the baulk cushion which many players today can do quite easily

Bob Massie was an Australian cricketer in the 1970s, not a snooker player! The masse shot dates from the 1800s when a French billiards player called François Mingaud toured the country showing off trick shots. He was also the man who first used a leather tip on a cue.

You can practice the masse shots with a small piece of old snooker cloth under the cue. Ball and it won’t alter the outcome of the shot really , will protect the main bed cloth from any potential damage .and cue stab marks .

Masse'd the green on A 4ft table with 32mm balls once and haven't lived it down since because in no way did i ever expect it to actually happen

Hi there,I wanted little help regarding tip size. Like I used to have a cue with tip sized 9.5. But lately I have been using a cue whose tip is too small like below 9 and it’s really difficult to know where and how you gotta take the shot. I would appreciate if you can help or share some ideas or make a video regarding required tip sizes too small or too big.

It’s down to how well you can cue. With a smaller tip there are more places you can hit the cue ball more precisely. If you don’t hit the ball exactly where you planned to though you will be punished. With a bigger tip you’ll miscue less often because you’ve reduced the amount of places to hit the cue ball but you’re restricted in how much and of what effect you can get from the cue ball. Just takes time, practice and patience learning which suites your style of play.

Club I used to play in banned masse shots due to (IMO) an incorrect belief they were the cause of damaged cloths. Not sure they're much good for the slate though.
