Alford took him and Parker at RB because all of his tier 1 options committed to other schools. It’s pretty clear
@MichiganVOCFB4 ай бұрын
Not true, SMK Davision Are each still not committed We're taking Johnson because Michigan doesn't want to wait on the other 2 and miss all 3 remaining options.
@CW6478-sr1gs4 ай бұрын
Exactly so you are more or less agreeing with me. Marquise Davis went to Kentucky. Davison is going to osu or Oregon and mill knight also isn’t going to Michigan so Alford didn’t want to get left with his pants down. This happened at osu the past couple years. It’s a pattern.

The best RBs don't even wanna play in this run dominant offense. I don't get it. Alford isn't panning out.

1,300 yds as a freshman against 3A private school competition in GA, 270 yds as a soph at IMG and a junior season scratched due to a blown knee...but hey, who cares about details. Am-I-Right?!😁👍🏾

I’m sure they vetted his rehab and have a plan for the young man his measurables 6-1 215 already is ridiculous just timed at 23 mph

Saw that, he is cleared for training.

Runs hard but he looks slow on some of his tape. Sometimes he looks to have decent speed and other highlights not at all. Maybe I'm tripping idk. Either way I was hoping Alford would do better.

He looks like he's not gonna pan out honestly.

Could be that his injury was progessing...a nagging thing that eventually put him out. Add to that....he was playing against much stiffer competition at IMG.... Trust Tony. Donovan will get everything he needs to become his best.... GO BLUE!

I say we need that battering ram of a back with some explosiveness. He definitely has the contact seeking I like. I’ll be looking for that extra step this season. Great analysis TJ

Donovan can improve his flexibility for sure. Mainly it was his vision in his sophomore year that wasn’t there. I don’t see much downside from a physical talent standpoint. It’ll be interesting to see how he develops at Michigan.

Love this pickup! Remember what the medical community says... The second year back from an ACL injury is when to really look out. That will be his first year then at Michigan.

This is called a hammer 🔨‼️ OSU wanted the hammer to drop well we got one for you OSU This is the guy that makes squares fit into round circles Go‼️ 🔵💪🏿😆 You don't get a guy like this to make cuts a guy like this you want him to run straight ahead and get the hard yards ‼️ Of course he's not going to be 100% coming back after a injury you guys overanalyze stuff too much.

Welcome Home Donovan Johnson!!!! Can't wait till you're able to score 5 TD against our enemy to the south!!!! I enjoyed your breakdown TJ and love the idea of you doing weekly or bi-weekly updates on commits. Also, I feel and agree with your take that there is a difference from his Freshman tape compared to his sophomore tape. There could be many factors because of this. The main thing is that he has a great frame and a high ceiling and I believe that Michigan will help him unlock his high potential to get the best out of him. Our developing is top notch!!! Also, I love that he seems like he has a large chip on his shoulder after being hurt and recovering, so you know his is going to fight to prove all the doubters wrong!!!! I believe he will!!!! He could be just the monster we need for our scheme!!!! Love his upside!!!! Go Blue!!!!

Not sure where the "controversy" discussion you are speaking about originated. I have not seen or heard any controversy about his commitment except from this video. Could this just be a personal opinion? Having Marshall, Kapana, Parker and now the next "Don" is an impressive 2 year haul.

No
@NattyTime5174 ай бұрын
You answered your own question. He does not look as good his sophomore year, because he is playing against equal/better talent. This is alfraud shooting for a longshot after the big miss. Seen this play out often at Ohio State with running backs and now with o-line. Any chance you want to poach our o-line coach next?
@MichiganVOCFB4 ай бұрын
Its not just competition, he looks like a stiffer, slower, and unbalanced back
@Peter-dw3qx4 ай бұрын
No he lost speed and agility. It's clear to see. That is independent of anyone else on the field.
