As much as I hope the Coyotes will still stay in Arizona, I think they will be moving to another city. Playing in a college arena that holds only 5,000 people is patently ridiculous. The only way I see the team staying in Arizona is a totally privately funded 17,000 to 18,000 seat is built.

Next season, the Arizona Coyotes will play at least one more season at Mullett Arena in Tempe. On May 19, 2025, Alex Meruelo will sell the Coyotes to Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta for $1.72 billion, including a relocation fee of $195 million to relocate the Coyotes to Houston. On June 24, the NHL Board of Governors will approve both the sale and relocation of the Coyotes to Houston in a 31-1 vote. As a result, the Coyotes will relocate to Houston after 29 seasons in the Phoenix area to become the Outlaws and play their home games at Toyota Center in the 2025-26 NHL season.

As much as I'd like to believe, to try to grow ice hockey in Arizona, the Yotes will remain in that state and that moving that team from that state is IMO an absolute last resort, that last resort appears closer than it was at any point after the Tempe referendum was announced, but before the 👎via a relevant referendum.
