At the end of this alternate ending, I was expecting the camera to pan to the bedroom window and then to outside and then to the garage where we would see Malcolm, Francis, Reese and Dewey cooking crystal meth. Malcolm would then look at the camera and say, “I think dad might be on to us!”

This just popped up in my feed today. Bob Newhart died today (July 18, 2024). Not sure if that's a weird coincidence or the algorithm promoting Newhart related content. Anyway, Newhart was amazingly funny, and this fun easter egg from the Breaking Bad creators, and so cool that Jane Kaczmarek ws available, was a cool tribute to a comic genius.
