@george chapelle You know "The Shield" didn't create every idea and concept related to drug cartels, right? A lot of generic, stereotypical concepts (such as this one) are used across multiple shows. Always been the case, going back through the 60s-70s with all the "family comedies" and "mis-matched buddy cop" sitcoms. If lf something works/fits the intended narrarive for one show...they'll take it, rinse it, and repeat it...as often as they can. There's nothing "suspicious" about using common themes...that's Hollywood bro. They haven't had anything original in years...

@@chickennoodles8845 Corridos was a way of telling a story. There’s many typed of Corridos. There’s some about Gunslingers, Heroes, and the most common in the recent decades, Narco Corridos. For Example “ El Corrido De Chito Cano” talks about an Infamous gun slinger from the 60s-70s who was shot in the back but unsuccessfully killed. “El Corrido de Feliciano” talks about a humble and successful rancher who successfully defended his land from the Infamous paramilitary organization “Los Zetas”. “Escolta Suicida” is a corrido by Beto Quintanilla that talks about los Zetas before they became scumbags. I know it’s a long test but it helps one find the type of corridos they like and want.

Yes because it was performed by Mexicans, just like Russian music is generally performed by Russians. What I think is really going on is that you are making a sarcastic comment because you think the word “Mexican” is a racially derogatory term. So, if calling someone Mexican is racist then what do you want to call them? Spanish? They’re not from Spain so that doesn’t work.

I wasn't tempted by Breaking bad. I watched it out of boredom, for the first three minutes, just the time to realize it was the best TV show i have ever seen. I started watching Better call Saul, knowing well that it couldn't be the same, not without Walt and Jesse... I was wrong again, another beautifully written and shot show, VERY underestimated. Thank you mr. Gilligan, sincerely, thank you for these beautiful gifts.

People are saying this song is funny, but honestly, this gave me chills. Them mentioning the Cartel learning about "Heisenberg" and wanting revenge for *them* taking over the meth market or whatever told me, "Yo, shit's about to go down". The bright, cheerful beat of the song only contrasts with its serious message.

Is it just me or are some of the english closed captions not totally accurate? Like it gets the point across but there are a few differences I noticed. Then again my spanish is not as good as my English.

The captions suck. I remember a while back on another video of this song, someone wrote another translation, but the words rhymed better and it overall was written better. I wish I could find that comment again

i think they just translated it more literal than as an actual song, like they make sense and go well if it was a paragraph of spoken dialogue but as a song its so bad lol, some stuff if sung to the beat dont go too well or go too long that have to be sung faster to fit it in feel they spent the budget for the song on the song and just got an unpaid intern to translate it is my best bet

True some of the captions don't actually mean exactly the same as what those singers are singing. For example: "Ese compa ya está muerto, nomás no le han avisado" litterally means that buddy/homie is already dead, they just hasn't told him yet. There are more anyways.

I love how the song is trying to hype tortuga as the big bad vilain of the season but then we never see him and he dies; that goes really well with the irl danny trejo, as he only plays a vilain if the vilain loses.

It’s amazing how far this series went in order to match with all the mexican drug culture. This music actually exists here down in Mexico. It’s called “Narcocorridos” and they always speak about a legendary Drugdealer history: For example this is Chapo’s narcocorrido by Goyo Gastelum: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3TJlKBvjbuhrLM Basically somebody from the Sinaloa Cartel paid to this guy for making a song talking about his boss, his drug empire and his dead sons as a present. Hopefully the Chapo liked it, if he didn’t maybe the one who gave him this present is already dead.
