@george chapelle You know "The Shield" didn't create every idea and concept related to drug cartels, right? A lot of generic, stereotypical concepts (such as this one) are used across multiple shows. Always been the case, going back through the 60s-70s with all the "family comedies" and "mis-matched buddy cop" sitcoms. If lf something works/fits the intended narrarive for one show...they'll take it, rinse it, and repeat it...as often as they can. The captions suck. I remember a while back on another video of this song, someone wrote another translation, but the words rhymed better and it overall was written better. I wish I could find that comment again
@JesseyStone3 жыл бұрын
i think they just translated it more literal than as an actual song, like they make sense and go well if it was a paragraph of spoken dialogue but as a song its so bad lol, some stuff if sung to the beat dont go too well or go too long that have to be sung faster to fit it in feel they spent the budget for the song on the song and just got an unpaid intern to translate it is my best bet
@kakagakakerger41653 жыл бұрын
the captions are right I'm Brazilian, we dont speak Spanish but portuguese have a lot of words that look like spanish words and that have the same meaning
@themanbehindtheslaughter88753 жыл бұрын
True some of the captions don't actually mean exactly the same as what those singers are singing. For example: "Ese compa ya está muerto, nomás no le han avisado" litterally means that buddy/homie is already dead, they just hasn't told him yet. There are more anyways.

It’s amazing how far this series went in order to match with all the mexican drug culture. This music actually exists here down in Mexico. It’s called “Narcocorridos” and they always speak about a legendary Drugdealer history: For example this is Chapo’s narcocorrido by Goyo Gastelum: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3TJlKBvjbuhrLM Basically somebody from the Sinaloa Cartel paid to this guy for making a song talking about his boss, his drug empire and his dead sons as a present.
