Breaking Barriers: Navigating Childhood PTSD Through Assessment & Diagnosis

Camber Children's Mental Health hosted an enlightening two-part webinar series titled, "A Comprehensive Understanding of Childhood PTSD." This series provided attendees with critical insights into the impact of trauma on youth, exploring how early experiences of trauma can shape a child's emotional and psychological development. The webinars featured expert speakers who delved into the complexities of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in children, discussing both the symptoms and long-term effects that trauma can have on young individuals.
First Session: The first webinar of the series, featured in this video, focuses on the assessment and diagnosis of PTSD in youth. This session breaks down the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for PTSD including risk factors and symptoms as well as reviews the assessment process in greater detail and explores common misdiagnoses.
Second Session: The second webinar, found here: • Redefining Wellness: E... , covers the intervention and treatment modalities proven to help youth with PTSD and shares practical strategies you can implement to reestablish feelings of safety and security. A case study is also shared to give participants a glimpse into Camber’s unique approach to treatment and the benefits of integration modalities.
