Ben Burnley is obviously the main singer, but he has Aaron the bassist who also can scream and clean sing, and Keith his guitarist I believe also sings and harmonizes too. So the dynamics in the vocals are from three people combined which is absolutely insane!! This band has been the most consistent in their entire career and I can’t wait for new music and this song is a banger 🔥

Yes, but Keith also does back vocals. And unfortunately in some part Keith’s voice covers over Ben’s voice. But in general I’m extremely happy to finally hear some new stuff from them

Ben’s writing is pretty deep. He suffered from addiction and depression but overcame both. He suffers from a disease that causes physical pain and headaches and drifted into a dark place but decided he could live a wasted life or fight through those issues and still do what he loves. Dance with the devil is my favorite by them but the entire Phobia album is an absolute masterpiece and would even be worth reacting to.

great! I think a lot fans can relate to it in some way or have been in similar situations - or even way serious ones - but his music just helps to overcome so much and defines certain points in our lives. He helped me with a lot of his songs and lyrics! He is the only singer/band i am so grateful for!

Phobia is still one of my favorite albums to always go back to and jam from beginning to end. I love Dear agony and Ember but, Phobia just holds a special place in my heart. Takes me back to high school.

Love the reaction...Breaking Benjamin did often mix harsher vocals into their songs. They were considered "Alternative Metal" when they got big. Some other good heavy-ish songs by them would be Evil Angel, Red Cold River, Blood, Sugarcoat, Simple Design...absolutely worth a listen!

Also want to add to this comment for anyone who doesn't know. Dear Agony is the band's first album where Ben was sober (alcohol addiction) and the actual brain scan on the cover of the album is his very own. He mentioned that he was much more serious writing the lyrics for this album in a way where if he didn't like something, he would correct it. Whereas previous albums he said if he didn't like some lyrics he would, in his words, "take a shot" and be like "they're good now!". So a lot of the lyrics from Dear Agony are inspired by his path to sobriety. Such a great album

I was estatic when this dropped, I had just gotten out of a seether and skillet concert and then got to hear this beautiful masterpiece! Breaking Benjamin is so back and I'm here for it. Crazy that it's been 7 years since they dropped a single. I was in high school last time they dropped an album.

BB has been one of my favorite bands for 20 years now. little disappointed you talked over one of the best moments of the song though and missed it around 7:37 when Ben does one of the prettiest cleans ive ever heard from him.

You should really check out some of the songs on Breaking Benjamin’s first album, Saturate. “Polyamorous” would be a good one to start with. My favorites on the album are “Next To Nothing” and “Water”.

This most recent original album, Ember from 2018, is probably their heaviest album with a lot of growling. It's a solid album. I saw them live just before the COVID nonesense, and they put on a good show.

I am certainly not young, and I didn't get into BB when they were new or even long ago. My music tastes just didn't match for a while, but I found myself really into them over the past year. Often times, I don't get into a band until they are done and gone. This is cool to hear and know they are still at it. So I am right there with you on the reflection. I'm good with this sound . Since you asked about Ben doing harsh vocals, I'm gonna join a lot of folks here and say Saturate. The first album they ever released. It's from 2004, I think. It's a legit no-skip album for me. The songs you're going to want to check out are: Wish I May, Polyamorous, Water, and Sugarcoat. ESPECIALLY Sugarcoat.
