The Boeing capsule, named Calypso, returned to Earth early this morning (Sept. 7), touching down in the New Mexico desert at 12:01 a.m. EDT (0401 GMT; 11:01 p.m. local time on Sept. 6).
The landing was long-delayed, coming more than three months into an orbital mission originally expected to last about 10 days. And, while Starliner launched with two NASA astronauts aboard - Williams and Butch Wilmore - nobody rode it home.
It wasn't supposed to end like this.

Interesting Starliner update : Just confirmed that there will be no Boeing representatives at the post-landing Starliner news conference. (John Shannon and Mark Nappi were originally supposed to be here). Asked NASA why. Response: "You'll have to ask them." Hmmm.

It's seemingly a last minute change because there were five chairs set up at the news conference here at JSC, and they just removed two seats right now.

They prob said fk it we are done. Starliner is done. Cancel the contract. Boeing is not skilled enough to compete in space any longer. 🤣

What a wild ride. Starliner is back to earth safely, with no crew on board, for its third time now. I’m curious what all they’ll discover with all the data they got free flying and reentering.

Wait a minute. Am I the only one who was expected a sea landing for the Starliner?

Starliner is designed to land on land. It can land in the ocean but it will only do that in emergency situation, like a launch abort. All starliner flight Have ended on land

Lol... No confidence to land on land if those 2 were on board. They are gonna get killed! Since there is no astronaut, just land on dry land.

@@strongchallenger2269 ? This is what Starliner was designed to do. Also the plan even with humans on board was to land on dry land. .

Finally Boeings misery ends. Now for the investigation. NASA will not go easy on Boeing. The future of Starliner is still uncertain.

Oh man. What the saga. While it has ended I am not sure how I feel about the Starliner program. Hope nasa investigates the hell out of it.

Looks safe enough starliner flight back to earth. Who left the astronauts lost in space ? Shouldn't NASA be investigated ? Surely nasa makes the call for leaving the astronauts out there.

Suni and Butch would have probably been safe to land with Starliner. Now they’re stuck on ISS for many months. They must be kicking themselves. 🤣

No, they are not kicking themselves. These are pros, and they’ve significantly increased the amount of work being done on the ISS with their presence. Trust me; as someone who worked with the astronaut office for many, many years, asking them to stay in space longer than the one week planned is Not a hardship. - Dave Huntsman

Wait what are those chutes landing separately towards the end. Landing independently after the capsule has landed. What sorcery is this?

This video looks so fake & staged. The Gemini & Apollo "landings", with allegedly inferior (compared to today) photography & filming cameras & equipment, provided much better images.
