What a crazy career for Avalos. He’ll land on his feet, but it was time for a change. I want someone without Boise State ties. I love Sanford! He would be a great OC or an analyst….. however, with all due respect, I’ll pass on him as head coach. We need new blood desperately.

I feel bad for Andy but he had to go. This was the worst of his three year tenure. He will make a great DC At a power five school. He did fantastic at Oregon. BSU needs to look at salary too. $1.75M is not the top of the MWC conference…Bohl and Tedford are both well over $2M. UTSA is paying their head coach $2.5M. P5 coordinators are making what Avalos made. What talent pool are you recruiting from?

Jeremiah Dickey was hired to move this program forward, And he did what he had to do with the firing of Avalos. I feel terrible for Andy and his family. I do not think that Andy's playing career at Boise State should be tarnished. He seems like a great guy. But I never felt like he was the right hire as HC. We need an Offensive HC. I wish Andy and his family all the best! I said to my friend that I went to the game with last night, As of right now I will not be renewing my season tickets next year. I will always be a BAA member. Now that Avalos is gone, I may reconsider my decision to perhaps go ahead and renew my season tickets next year. I believe Jeremiah Dickey will put a lot of thought and time into the hiring of the next head coach at Boise State.

Avalos 1st mistake was his 1st hire at OC. His 2nd mistake was keeping Harsin’s QB’s. He finally got his QB, then his DC let him down.

If I hear Harsin for coach one more time I’ll go crazy. Move on people. Broaden your mind and be open to someone outside the Bronco brotherhood. Of course unless you can get Kellen. All I ask is for an offensive minded coach and a gunslinger attitude who puts the pedal to the metal for all 4 quarters like Lane Kiffin. JD will no doubt hire the right guy!

Respect to Jeremiah Dickey for making a strong statement. Likely saved the team from losing recruits and more existing players. Looking forward to seeing who the candidates will be . New playoff system brings huge opportunities for programs like a strong BSU. Go Broncos!

big mistake. most losses were very close. nil makes it very competitive and a lot of non major areas have trouble bringing the millions needed for NIL. he was doing a good job. anyone coming in wont do much better.

recruiting was always tough for the mountain west. but now with NIL, it's really really hard. Avalos did a great job.

No disrespect, but 22-14 and 11-7 at home really won’t cut it. He was a mid coach that was way in over his head. Harsin always had the top MW recruiting class, Avalos never had a top recruiting class. UNLV is killing it in the NIL world in terms of MW teams and that’s not right. Boise is falling behind dramatically. It was time for a change.

@@grandtetons2 yeah but look at the teams he almost beat this season. they're good teams. i think he was building something. it's not the pre nil days. you have to be a developmental program. look, hopefully the next hire is better, but chances are it'll take 4 to 5 years to do better than Avalos.

Sanford!! I am team Sanford for HC! I have said it before and I will say it again….let’s bring back all of them. Sanford. Zak Hill. Harsin. Heck….let Avalos run the defense. Let’s fill the whole coaching staff with “THE FAMILY.” We have a lot of underemployed bronco greats just hangin out. Petersen and K. Moore is a pipe dream. But if we are filling the coaching pool let’s do it.

The residuals of the Chris Petersen and Kellen Moore golden era are now officially depleted. BSU has returned to being a mediocre, meaningless, mid-level program. And Dickey is silly if he thinks we’ll get some top tier coach to come into this no-money program with the clown turf and 1/2 empty stadium.
