If drones made in the US could even compare to what is made by DJI, this would be a non-issue. But they don't even compare and they are ridiculously over-pricing them. I used to own a Skydio and I didn't like using my phone with the controller. When I looked into a different available controller, the price was more than the drone. Not to mention the fact that it didn't have as many interactive features. So I sold the Skydio and bought 2 DJI drones. The US drone industry will never be able to keep up with the DJI.

@@rudyalfonsus686 What? I said we have the technology to compete meaning we could definitely build drones with cameras just as good as the DJI but we don’t because we can’t compete with pricing.

I think it's all great news for all DJI consumer drone pilot's, but why not let the federal agencies use them knowing that they are the best choice for life saving situations. I get it, I really do. The USA is worried about our sensitive data, but don't you think that if they knew DJI drones are safe, shouldn't they let federal government agencies use them? I'm sure they'll continue to push that ban, and I'm with the government IF. IF they find something fishy with the DJI drones. Until then, I'm going to continue to enjoy my drones. Thanks again for your awesome work with these videos. I truly appreciate them, and the hard work that goes to make them. Thanks again JD, and happy holidays to you, and your loved ones. 👍👍👍

So, will this still affect emergency departments and law enforcement from using and being able to purchase more DJI drones in the future? Most of this junk comes from people that just don't know anything about drones and think anyone that owns a drone is going to use it for either snooping or bombing which is absolutely ridiculous be begin with. This is great and welcome news! I absolutely love my DJI Drones! Go DJI FTW!

Only marginally related but regarding New Jersey controversy... I have seen very few videos that can be positivly identified as drones. Several can be positivly recognized as planes and the vast majority appear characteristic of planes. Google maps shows there are many airports in New Jersey. It was reported yesterday that of the over 3000 reports of drones only 11 had been confirmed. John Kirby, White House National Security Advisor said today Congress needs to expand counter drone authority which I speculate may be the real force behind these reported New Jersy drone sightings. I am currious what that will entail especially for hobbyists like me.

What about a private contractor wanting to work as govt. contractor? I bet Chinese drones are not allowed so it does effect drone companies wanting to engage in contracting services. Have you read any language in there about contracting with govt. agencies?

It's all good for a year. Then we get to worry about it all over again. The constant (as in yearly) threat and concern about a ban is exhausting.
@dronecamps3 күн бұрын
Sort of. There has been a Task Force assigned to dismantle DJI Drones in the first 30 days of the NDAA and determine if there are security risks. Which hopefully dont lead to a public ban. - Thanks for your comment. It is exhuasting man. Such a shame. ~ JD.

I friend of mine had a “drunk” idea a few days ago as we were talking about all kinds of drone things… what if Dji was to work with an American company to develop firmware for just their US based drones? Maybe similar to the ANZU Robotics deal, where the company isn’t directly related to Dji, just using the same hardware. 🤔 Again, not sure on all the real details it would take, but it was an intriguing thought. If that were to happen, could it potentially greatly reduce the “need” for a Dji ban, and if so, do you think we would expect those other drones to be greatly more expensive than original Dji products..?
@shipwreck8847Күн бұрын
Whatever the case will be, there's going to be a large price hike in the cost of drones. Imagine 10-20% tariffs, these are chinese products. on a $1,000 drone that's an extra $200 you will spend in taxes just from this tariff at 20%. If it's a $1500 drone, that's 50% more. I wonder where that tariff is going to go? I'm guessing it's going to get passed down as a tax break for the super rich. Essentially it's a distribution of taxes from our paychecks going directly to a tax break for the uber rich. Apparently the idea is to try to get the super wealthy to a zero percent income tax. I didn't vote for this, but I can't change others if people wanted this. Super sad to see what's going on I see a huge inflation in prices next year. I thank the 80+ million who allowed this to happen. You can only do what you can do, you can't change others. Better buy today as prices are still at normal levels. Next year is gonna be a shit storm.
