In late drafts, pick a player with a high ceiling. Safe picks rarely start, so swing for potential. No 23rd pick was going to win us a championship this year.

@@Lemonpepperwett not guaranteed he'd be there - they likely didn't want to miss on someone they rate as having huge potential. But, your point is well taken - yes, it would be nice if he fell lower, but they decided he might not be there. People thought Giannis was a reach as well if I recall - he was raw and just a baby. I'm not comparing this playrr to Giannis, just noting that steals in the draft versus reaches are less important than the outcome down the road. If it was a reach to get him at 23, but he pans out in a couple years as a starter, then worth the reach.

Bucks fan since birth here, loved em through all of it. Coming in with some unpopular opinions... Dig the pick. Decision made for the future folks. Be ready for this transition in front office thinking. The Bucks' window is just a crack at this point, barely open and realistically we have no desireable assets to trade in the hopes of improving besides maybe Lopez. Possibly Middleton, but i think we get cents on the dollar for him given the injury history. Dont get bent out of shape about this pick. Its been said by many folks on here, no one at 23 was going to get play time or move the dial enough during our dwindling window. Bucks should habe three priorities going forward IMO. Rest your core as much as possible in the regular season , but ensure the playoff birth. Fill those minutes early with your young guys in the hope they can become relevant come playoff time. And third, and yes this sucks, if it looks like its falling apart, get ready to start shopping Giannis while he still commands a "frachise reset" value and before he becomes too injury prone. Alright...rake me over the coals.

When fans realize what this guy is, likely, slated to be, they'll have a better opinion: Dame's replacement in 2 - 3 years. During this time, he'll be groomed by Dame to run the system to Doc's preference. A bigger, more athletic and younger version of Dame with developed chemistry with AJ Ja ckson Jr.

After thinking about this pick for a day or so, I really don’t hate it as much as I did yesterday. Realistically, who were we going to get at 23 who will be better next year than another year of progression for Beauchamp, Ajax, or AJ Green? Sure, Shannon Jr was on the board, but are we sure that he’s better than any of these guys next year? And if he is, I would rather play a beauchamp who’s been in the system now in year 3 during the playoffs than a more talented player who is still prone to make rookie mistakes.

That would be good but one thing Bucks fans should know is that Marjon is a straight bust. He cannot and will not play. He is below average in every single aspect and not nearly the athlete people think.. he's actualy kind of slow and gets beat off the dribble easily and is not an explosive leaper. Average or worse shooter with not a single offensive weapon. Sadly, he will be out of the league soon.

So they pick a player who barely played at a step down from the NBA. I don’t get it. I feel like Horst keeps hunting the next Giannis. I think the quote “way too cute” is appropriate. It’s the lottery winner effect, where people who win go on to continue to play at high volume for years because they figure I won once of course I’ll win again.

I’m very happy with this pick , I will always favour an international player over an NIL college pick I expect him to be our backup PG by season end. He moves very swiftly down the court , can shoots 3s off the dribble, Athletic going to the rim . And is a pass first guard. He has long arms which would help on defence. Ppl crying about his frame , but have forgotten what Giannis looked like, Kid is a guard not a big 😂

Pretend he's Steve Nash. Pick 15. Played a total of 66 games in his rookie season. Did Steve Nash help them win a championship that year or was he a difference Maker? Here's Steve Nash's rookie stats: Rookie Stats: 3.3 PPG, 1.0 RPG, 2.1 SPG, 0.3 SPG, 0.0 BPG Games Played: 65 Games (2 Game Starts) Is this pic? Steve Nash? No, not even close. This is pick 23. Kobe was taking 15th. Kobe's rookie season. Didn't help them win a championship either. Were they contributors? Yes. But my point is even great. Prospects need time to develop and won't be the thing that pushes you over the edge the first year they play. Even if they do play. It is not a waste of a pic and we are not the laughing stock of the draft.
