That route was actually put in by the Patriots offense the night before SB48 vs Seattle. Edelman ran that route twice in that game. Once Brady completely missed the throw. The other time Brady hit Edelman for the touchdown. Brady brought that route with him, it almost can't be stopped as an option route. If you clear out the middle of the field all of your action the other side. The WR can either run that pivot route, or a slant. The defender has to set up on the outside to defend the pivot route, so an inside slant should beat him with an accurate throw. If he sets up to play the slant, the pivot route is going to break his ankles like you saw with Evans. It's an incredibly high % play on the goal line.

If you were in the booth, I might actually watch the game with out the sound muted. Full disclosure, I don’t even watch the games in real time anymore. Brady's throws are on point but those catches by his receivers are pretty epic. Godwin and Evans alone will make any quarterback look good, let alone the GOAT. But add all that with Gronk, AB, and a Stellar Defense and we are watching NFL History as we speak. I think the league screwed up big time by not trying to take those talents away from Tampa Bay. Free agency should have ripped away a few of those pro bowlers, but nobody succeeded. If they overcome the Rams this weekend, I don't know who can really stop them.

Free agency was not going to rip that team up. Evans was already under contract. Godwin was franchise tagged. Gronk was never going to sign with anyone else. AB and Fournette were available for anyone to take last year and no one did. The only guys it would have been realistic for the Bucs to lose were Suh and Shaq Barrett, but winning the Super Bowl made it a lot easier to get them back. P.S. I do think the Rams will win this week.

I think the guys wanted to stay. Barrett especially took less to stay than he could have gotten on the open market. Plus Tom always redoes his deals to make more cap available to sign or retain players. Players respect the hell out of him. I agree, if they overcome the Rams the only other team that realistically has a shot is Buffalo, Maybe the Saints if Jameis plays like he did against the Packers. This weekend will definitely be the toughest game on their schedule IMO.

Winston threw 30 interceptions even with Evans and Godwin. They had numbers. But no wins. What Brady brought was winning culture. And he made GM moves to strength his weapons. AB , Gronk and Lenny all came for Brady. Interesting part is, Tampa haven't used their depth yet. Miller, Johnson, Howard, Brate have not played significant plays yet. And i see them using Giovanni Bernard in significant role (Like James White) in this season.

True test coming up with the Rams. The Cowboys defense was ranked 28th last year (Pro-Football-Reference) and they are missing D-Law. The Falcons' defense was ranked 19 last year but look horrendous through their first 2 games (32pts given to the Eagles)

Demaryius Thomas was good but your #3 WR is better than him. The talent level isn't even close.
