I was in jail for nearly half a year with a woman who'd stolen baby formula for her child because she lost her job and couldn't afford it. She was still locked up when I left. Baby formula, not classified documents. Petty theft, not treason. She wasn't in the right, and ultimately she did have a couple of other options available to her, but she acted out of perceived desperation, for her child. No one can argue any crime Trump has done was done from a place of need, fear, or with any kind of good intentions. I think about her all the time lately. And a friend who spent three weeks in jail because when she called 911 after her ex came to her house and savagely assaulted her, she admitted that she had hit him too, in self defense. She was a cancer patient, and I pretty rough shape. She missed three chemo treatments, was provided with none of the meds she needed. She was actually *charged* because of all that and had to do community service. Again, let's compare the crimes. She hit her ex, who was assaulting her (tried to pull out the chemo med port that goes into a cardiac vein, for one thing, and tried to blind her) and was then charged with assault. THEFT OF CLASSIFIED GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS, AFTER INCITING A COUP. TAX FRAUD. ET GODDAMN CETERA. Jail, out of absolute meanness, man! No jail, just living his best celebrity white supremacist life on his golf course house, incriminating himself repeatedly, publicly, in writing. I don't have any summation. This is an open ended thought.

There is no credible defense for Trump. Why he hasn't paid for his crimes is a continuing frustration no one can answer. All we can do is wait, hope and see the DOJ, NY AG, Georgia DA...among other investigations, finally take the final steps and indict. Even then there's no guarantee he will be found guilty, since there has to be unanimous decision in court. If even one secret MAGA gets on a jury they can sabotage justice and get Trump off with a mistrial.

IMO, Trump should have been arrested as soon as the search at Mar A Lago turned up classified documents. That is what would have happened to any other government employee (or former government employee) who took classified documents home.

Since [45's] crime threatens national security, why is [45] not tried under the U.C.M.J. by a "Military Tribunal?" After all [45] was in the position of "Commander In Chief of the Military??" Civilian Court dose not seem to have any teeth.

I’m curious if others will start ignoring subpoenas and cite this case as the reason. *** If tfg can get/got away with it, it should also apply to a regular John Q. Citizen - their thinking.

Trump and his crony’s are part of a decades long campaign to destabilize the US. So naturally his behavior will lead to a further decrease in social cohesion. That’s their whole shtick. Has been since the McCarthy era. Project wherever possible, and obfuscate everywhere else.

I believe we all understand that any of us standing on the precedents established in these cases would be instantly denied and rebuked in any of the seized courts in our fair land. Citizen Trump, however despised by his fellow elites, must have his priveleges preserved to protect their own. "All animals are equal, some more than others." George Orwell.- Animal Farm

Glen, it may not make "investigative" sense, but this is NOT your average stolen goods. The DOJ needs to make every effort to get back all files because of national security.
