Breaking Free From Habitual Sin

People become addicted to sin because the human heart is prone toward evil. People may try all kinds of things to break these bad habits, but God has only given one answer to habitual sin: repentance. Many often think that making resolution means that they have repented, but true repentance is the complete upheaval of the old way of thinking.

I am a wife to a man that has sexual addiction. The pain is repeated over and over. Every word spoken here is the truth. My husband has never told me he will never do it again. He started drinking. Then he would get angry. He literally threw me out of our home. I went home to my daughters. I am with peace now. I sometimes think that he never thought about the ache and pain he cause in me. We rarely talk now. I am getting ready to ask him for a divorce. I love my husband. I pray for him day and night. Please keep him in your prayers. I give it to God🙏

Genuinely good word. Genuinely needed. Genuine Blessing. True Christians do struggle with sin. Paul said "what I want to do, I do not, what I don't want to do, that I do. Oh wretched man that I am. But we can and must repent, (change), or the sin will have devastating consequences, and can destroy us--in this life.

We need to Holy Spirit to overcome sin; we can't do it in our own strength we have to learn to walk in the spirit. That's the answer... Galatians 5... Be filled with the spirit and put to death the flesh.

Thank you for your ministry. I am a woman who struggles with sexual sin. I will not say what that sin is, however, it is a habitual sin and I do want to stop it. I notice that your ministry seems to be geared primarily towards men, but I want you to know that there are women out there, like me, who also struggle with sexual sin. I would appreciate it very much if you would do a video about women who struggle with these sins, as well. I watched your video on Breaking Free from Habitual Sin and although I do agree with most of it, there are aspects of it that I do not agree with. I know that God loves me Unconditionally, no matter how many times I fail. I am not perfect and God knows that and He accepts me as I am. I know that this does not give me a license to sin, but I also know that "He Knoweth my frame and He remembereth that I am dust." Psalm 103:14. I will NEVER stop working to overcome my sin. What I received from your message is that I may have been trying to overcome this sin in my own strength. With God's help, I am going to turn this sin over to Him and trust Him to give me His strength to overcome this sin. I do thank you for your ministry, though. It is very important. I have been born again since 1984 and I have seen God work in my life. I KNOW that I KNOW Him. But because I live in this fleshly body, I know that sometimes I will fall, but His grace covers me and His mercy NEVER ends. Again, thank you for your ministry. I will continue to watch your videos. I believe I can learn from them and grow more in my faith. Again, thank you for what you do.

Whenever you hear the word, "man," remember, that includes women unless the reference is related to specifically men. Mankind means ALL people. But, you're correct; men are not the only ones who struggle with sexual sin, and I'm sure it's even harder, as a woman, to share openly about that struggle.

I had a spiritual awakening a few months ago and now I see sin and I never realized that sin was feeding a literal demon! I’m still struggling with a drug addiction and I know I’m feeding a demon but I can’t stop. I repent every time I do it but I still feel guilty so bad. I never dreamed I would be able to look at a person and tell you what sin they have but I can and it’s scary cause everywhere I go people are surrounded by demons even Christians and they have no idea. I pray I can beat this soon cause I’m begging God to change me daily

I understand. Years of bondage, with occasional sobriety. But I never quit coming back to the Lord, begging for freedom. The best way I ever heard it described was, that it's an ever-increasing craving for an ever-diminishing pleasure. My biggest struggle was sitting with the fact that I loved using drugs, but I also was blessed with the conviction of the Holy Spirit; I knew it was wrong, and something inside me longed to be free. There came a day, through no work of my own, He set me free,. It's going on 10 years now. I'm so grateful. Keep turning back to Him. If He did it for me, I know He'll do it for you.

Heart in this context = mind. It's the human mind , the ego, that deceives and causes us to sin. Not the heart as we define it in modern times. The word heart may have been used in biblical times, but in modern semantics it refers to mind. It's the MIND that needs to be overcome. If we are made in the image of God, then our true nature is good, is pure. We are just being held hostage by our minds, by our distorted self-image. Sin is distorted thinking - actually the original definition of the word sin is "missing the mark". That is what it is, the distorted belief that the sinful act will somehow bring pleasure, satisfaction, relief. But in actuality, it does the opposite. We must renounce this old self and empty ourselves from it so that we can be filled by Christ. This takes effort, patience, diligence, trust, determination, and deep faith, and learning how to navigate and overcome temptation when it arises. It also takes time. Living a Christ-centered life takes going beyond time - we must go beyond past and future and live in the present moment. That is where we find Christ and His grace and where we find our own strength.

The only worth that I have is the fact that I am a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, and I have the Holy Spirit living in me. If I didn’t have that I would be an absolute worthless wretch. But by the Grace of God the cross has made me flawless. You have a free choice to make, either Jesus Christ or your worthless state that you are in. The choice you make have consequences, remember that. Heaven & Hell are real. Choose wisely. The only requirement for salvation is faith in Jesus Christ. There is nothing you can do to earn salvation threw works. Faith and Faith alone. Everything in your life from beginning to end is Meaningless, meaningless, Meaningless without Jesus. Ecclesiastes 1:2 Ask Jesus for help right now my friend. Lord Jesus I pray for everyone who reads this post, that you would surround them with the sacred blood of Christ Jesus as a living, healing, protective shield, from the evil one and all the powers of darkness. AMEN

GOD gives all authority, but the only authority he give the devil is to tempt, knowing our flesh is weak, but our spirit is willing. I know that 1 Corinthians says there is no temptation taking you that such is common to man, but God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but will with the temptation nakr a way to escape that you may be able to bear it.

I think this is real ministry. Another ministry, Deliverance Ministry I was part of, ditched me. They had a Deliverance Program I was working hard on by myself, which had Repentance & Forgiveness in their Steps yet the Head of the Ministry was not showing Fruits of the Spirit & he didn't outreach to help me to complete HIS Deliverance Program he gave me to do alone, with no church, no family, no friends...in my country & in general. I cannot trust any Church in North American Continent.

Pray to God that he would soften your heart to come to the point of true repentance. I heard it said that God brings us to the end of ourselves to where the only way out is to finally rely on his strength alone and ask him to do the impossible to save us from our own pit of sin. Get into the Word daily and pray constantly. Place your sins on the cross of Christ and watch his blood wash all your sins away. 🙏 It's a daily death to the old self and a daily following of Christ. That's why Jesus said to take up our cross daily and follow him.

The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. To set your mind on the flesh is death but to set your mind on the Spirit is life and peace. The love of Christ controls us. Sin now has no more dominion.Walk by the Spirit and do not fulfill the desires of your flesh. The love of Christ controls us; for who is in us is greater than he who is in the world.we know that anyone born of God does not sin,but who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. We know that we are of God and the world is in the power of the evil one.

My only explanation is that it's impossible for us to resist every sin since theirs so many ways to sin and some sins we don't even know or think about as sin such as catching a good buzz or getting high or even just admiring and lusting over attractive bitches but we can still make more effort to put up a better fight at resisting sins that we know are an unclean stronghold over us such as pornography and masterbation. We may not ever be able to fully stay away from the sins that are easy to fall into, but we can at least work on making more effort to sin less while we're still living in the flesh 🤷‍♂️ I want to honor him better and not continue habitualy cheating on my faith by constantly giving into the same sin over and over. But it also seems the longer we resist a temptation, the stronger the temptation becomes until we eventually cave back into it but I guess if you resist long enough which seems impossible, the the devil is supposed to flee from us. Ik I can't seem to resist temptations for more than 5-7 days 😞
