I agree with you 100%. Having women in the house is about merit and not about diversity hires. As a born and raised Canadian, I want qualifies women in parliament not someone there because they are a certain ethnicity, colour, or gender. What is happening in this country? I also want to know why they keep focusing on single mothers. What about single fathers? They never mention those and they do exists. Sure, maybe not as much as single moms (speaking as a former one) but single dads are just as important and keep being left out. Just being “inclusive” 😜😁

Qualifications and merits makes you eligible. Gender is not a qualification. The Standard for ministers should be higher. Not enough degrees in ministerial roles. Put an Elon Musk or O'Leary as the finance minister. The ministerial roles should not based on being elected members of parliament but strictly by election by a college collective of scientists/ accountants depending on ministry role. Actual Education and experience in their roles would help our country grow.
