The 38 Republicans did not have backbone when Biden-Harris spent billions on Ukraine and illegals. The debt ceiling should have been raised under Biden administration but they deferred it to Trump. That’s why it was added to this bill. Trump left Biden a strong, healthy economy with LOW INFLATION and LOW INTEREST RATES. Compare that to today’s economy! Where were the Republican votes to stop funding on wars, illegal migrants, and waste during these past four years? Where were the Republican votes to stop Biden from reversing policies that secured our borders? Where were the Republican votes to stop FEMA spending on non-disaster related issues? Why didn’t Republicans bring a hurricane relief bill to the floor 83 days ago when hurricanes hit the southeast? You don't understand what raising the debt limit is. This is a way for the government to spend the money they've ALREADY committed to spending. It's like buying something on credit and later you decide the payments are too much and you just stop paying. This is to prevent the country from going into default. If Republicans were REALLY serious about curbing spending they would get involved in setting the BUDGET instead of letting the Democrats do the whole thing with an eye to blackmailing the country at times like this, to get more of what they want
