We do not have a “Breaking In a Third Baseman Glove” video for this year. We recommend checking out our “Breaking in a Middle Infield Baseball Glove” video and skipping the steps that will form a shallow pocket (pulling the glove from the thumb and pinky).

I remember when Tim Federovich was playing at UNC, we saw him play in a lot of games over his college career bc it's about 30mins from my house, and a few of my friends that I played with as a kid were playing at UNC too.. Out of all the players we watched over those 4yrs, he is one of the last people I thought would make it to the show.. Happy for him, and he's definitely picked a great glove.. Love my A2000's
@wilsonballgloves11 жыл бұрын
Hi Bryan, this stain is from the substance that separates the leather forming the pocket of the mitt and the leather forming the palm liner. The stain can develop over time as the leather gets broken in, but it does not hurt the mitt's performance nor the leather’s durability.
@wilsonballgloves12 жыл бұрын
We recommend taking your glove to a local glove shop and asking them to relace your mitt this way, or check out the A2000 MN25 the next time you’re ready for a new glove. It comes laced the same way that Mike Napoli has his game glove.
@jimlahey24618 жыл бұрын
No other gloves have that loud explosion of a pop that the a2000 has. All my pitchers love it when I catch for them as that pop gives them that confidence of a good hard fastball.
@bryanrmcnair015 жыл бұрын
It's not the mitt...it the way ya let the ball hit and naturlay close hand instead of tryn "time" closing hand around ball as it hits it! Some catchers never get that "pop" with any mitt! They probably close thier thumb instead of "cupping" ball with the others minus the index!

Hi Jason, we recommend the A1K Catcher’s Mitt. The pattern is modified so that it fits smaller hands a little better. Our thought is that if you have a glove that fits your hand better, it will allow you to locate the ball more quickly which should help with transfer time.

The MN25 will only available on our Custom Glove Shop for the next year. You can find all of our 2013 gloves on our website now - the MN25 was the new Baseball Catcher’s Mitt released for 2013.

Our top glove guru Aso and other Wilson ball glove technicians work with pros and respond to their feedback year after year to make the ultimate catcher's mitts. Our Pro Stock leather sets us apart and a Dri-Lex wrist lining helps move moisture away from your skin to keep you cool and comfortable through every inning. We recommend trying one of our mitts on in a sporting goods store.

Thank you for providing the video. We reviewed with our in-house experts, and they think you’ve done a great job breaking in your glove. The issue you’re experiencing is common. We suggest pounding your glove with a neoprene weight in the impacted area to help smooth out the leather.
@wilsonballgloves11 жыл бұрын
Hello, we recommend letting your glove naturally dry. If you try to speed up the drying process with a heat source like a microwave or oven you will make the laces weaker and your glove, especially the laces, will have an increased chance of breaking. Leave your glove in an area where it can breathe (i.e. not in a bag).

I just got a Wilson a2000 Pudge. But whenever I close it to catch a ball, my pinky finger knuckle gets squeezed. How could I fix this?
@wilsonballgloves10 жыл бұрын
That might happen in the beginning as you are breaking it in since the mitt is very stiff at first. As you break it in and the leather softens up and conforms to your hand, it should start to feel more comfortable.

Can someone tell me why with the Pudge A2000 I got the ball shoots out of it when I go to close on a pitch? It like hits the glove and goes right out. Am I not using the right form? Idk...
@wilsonballgloves9 жыл бұрын
Brewer Fan This could be due to the glove still being a little bit stiff. If that is the case you can try using the break in tips from Aso in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWSni4aBZ859arM. Otherwise try focusing on catching the pitch more in the pocket, the ball will tend to pop out if you are letting it hit the palm or heel of your hand.
@JSam219 жыл бұрын
The Pudge (32.5") is the smallest pattern of the Wilson adult line. It might benefit you to look at a larger model like the 1790 (34") or the M1 (33.5"). Also you might have your pocket a bit too small. Work on receiving drills to help catch the ball in the same spot everytime.

@wilsonballgloves11 жыл бұрын
We do not recommend using a steamer to break in your glove. Using a steamer can break the leather down faster and cut down on the gloves life span. It also Will void the 1 year limited warranty that we offer on our A2000’s and A2K’s. The methods described by Aso are what we recommend to break in your glove.

The 1k leather will break down faster than the A2000 and the A2000 will break down faster than the A2K. Spend a little bit more money up front and get the pattern you like in either the A2000 or A2K and you won't have to buy another glove, if you take care of it properly, for the rest of your high school career.

Hey wilson, I know this sounds weird, but would it be bad to put something like beeswax on your glove to make it waterproof?
@wilsonballgloves11 жыл бұрын
We do not recommend putting beeswax on your glove. There are not too many products that you can use on a glove to make it waterproof while helping keep the durability of the leather. We recommend using our ProStock conditioner on a glove to treat it. If you are needing to have a glove that is water resistant we recommend using our SuperSkin series gloves. The SuperSkin is a little more water resistant than regular leather.
