I wish you were closer I'd give your kids a couple of starter metal detectors I have. My kids don't use them anymore. They'd really find some brass with them. I usually give my nephew one in the summer and he'll go for hours.

The tractor looks nice, I hope you get many years pulling the water tank out of it. When I had young kids I could ignore and not even notice Dad, dad, dad, dad, now I hear it. lol. Sure is nice to see your son carrying Rhett and being a big brother. I am sure they tassel but your sons are wonderful boys. Stay safe and healthy.
@clydeacor1911 Жыл бұрын
It's awesome that you give your kid's so many opportunities to learn, I started driving potato trucks at 9 years old. It is different that it doesn't have Jake's since 99% of those Big Cam Cummins had Jake's. Also a couple helpful tidbits keep your hand off the shifter, nothing wears out a shifting tower faster than resting your hand on the shifter. Also you might not want to wire your cardboard to the front of a Kenworth grill because it's the actual cooling condenser for your air conditioner and those are the actual cooling lines and are aluminum and will wear a hole in them very fast.

A few things: It never occurred to me that Joshua trees even existed outside of California. The ability to drive a big truck is an invaluable skill for a boy, or girl to have. You never know when they might have to get you home. And last, I get the impression that the amount of time that Ridge is not talking on any given day would be measured in minutes. LOL

Riler is handling that new truck like a pro! Seeing him hug the wheel to push in the clutch reminded me of learning to drive my dad's truck when I was 8. I had to use both feet to push in the clutch, pulling on the bottom of the steering wheel! Loved seeing all the little R's helping out. Can't wait to see what's next.

Living out in the middle of nowhere does have its perks. My Dad owned a logging company and sawmill when I was a kid and I could operate all his equipment and drive his log trucks by the time I was 12. I drove myself to school in the 6th grade for several months until one of the teachers saw me and freaked out! LOL Good times!!

I can maybe help with speedometer simple fix if they are still mechanical and the same as they were back in my day. Undo speedo cable at transmission tail housing ( just unscrews the straight out ) then pull 1 small bolt the pop out speedometer drive gear out or trans. ( mark it so you can put it back in the same exact way ) then the gear that pulls out is plastic and the do what was called apple core ( where the gear wears out in the center where it makes contact to gear in trans. ) then get a new gear they came in different colors and you have to put the same color back in. Also noticed that when the hood was open it sounded and kind of looked like belt's were loose on alt and things. Lastly if you get a hold of the right person I'm pretty sure you can add Jake brakes but I've been out of the business way too long
@alkennedy1124 Жыл бұрын
Small cam looks like , you really didn’t show the driver side of the engine lower side of the block , shows the cam covers Bolts around them with bumps on them , you can have the jake brake boxes off the blown up one ☝️ and put them on this engine no problem, that’s a nice looking ol truck , BigAl California Praise Jesus Christ grace grace amen 🙏

Is that a rod knockin' or a loose tappet, or just the way the camera records sound? I'd use your big screwdriver and see if you can isolate that knock. Compressor maybe? "Jake Brakes" were originally designed by the Jacob's Drill Chuck Company.
