The safety standards in Indian Navy are poor to say the list. One Petya Class frigate had sunk in Bay of Bengal while on exercises. That Petya frigate had just completed it's refitting at Vizag. IN officers and seamen take too many short cuts, fudge logs and records that cause serious accidents. Nuclear Sub rented from Russia too was similarly damaged badly... that time someone forgot to secure a hatch... are we joking? Court marshals and punishments have no value as the damage caused is in millions of dollars.

So these two projects aren’t delayed. And for new jets we are developing with france new 110kn engines for future engines that will also power france’s next gen fighters. Long story short. Tejas mk1a type delay won’t happen with these projects and Also IAF didn’t shy away from ordering double the size of initial orders and they support make in India
