Yes, Lakers were better than Nuggets. Ham cost Lebron and AD perhaps their best chance at aother title. The odds that both will be healthy for most of the season and the playoffs are slim. Maybe one of the most painful seasons ever.

I am not sure if they are/were better . They lost many times in a row. And lost in waning minutes last year WCF . I agree with you that this was a missed chance . They could have played Max, Vando and even Wood when others went cold . Also agree with you that there is a slim chance that Bron and AD are healthy again for the season and play-offs. Sonics fan here, Darvin Ham was not the problem. Lebron could have carried Lakers in his 30's but not in his 40's he just ran out of gas and when he ran out of gas the team ran out of gas. If the bench was better Lakers probably would have won the series. It's really no shame to lose to Denver they are probably the best team in the league. I think you guys are missing a Fox, Maxey, a finisher that is lightning quick that can get easy shots on the drive consistently to take pressure off Lebron. Reeves isn't that and Russell isn't that they can sometimes get close though which is why the team is inconsistent.

For Lakers though 3 coaches in 6 years for me it says more about the players (power struggle over management / franchise) rather than bad coaches. Magic and Kobe had issues with HC per say but even then they played the game consistently and with no load management excuses, they boxed out, played or at least tried on defense every night, night in and night out. What Ham did last year was great. This year was less so. Lakeshow had issues all year in the first quarter, he still "helped" (still most likely in spite of Ham) the team win the in-season tournament. After the Lakers went from fourth to tenth in a week, making what should be a good team in to a middling one. He showed that he couldn't learn still making the same mistakes he made last year. It was really time to move on from Ham.
