Shake Milton is Austin Reaves 2023 without AR's hype..he's a bucket, great in the mid range and a solid backup guard. If given the minutes, between gabe, shake and knect I'm not worried about offense outta the pick and role.. but shake is the better ball handler outta the 3. We won't miss Dlo much in that regard. NO to starting DFS over Rui. Rui has allowed Bron’s defensive effort to be better because he’s been using his size to effect inside shots. The film backs that. Also you said it best Sean. The data shows DFS offensively doesn’t do anything outside of shoot 3’s. That’s beautiful but Rui cuts, he’s a post threat, & teams react to him on cross matches which opens things up for Bron, Austin, & others perimeter guys. No way … DFS is proven playoff guy which Max is not and vs certain teams with multiple on ball scoring wings he’s probably going to play a lot more than Rui anyway. It’s a match up thing but Rui starts. You don’t mess with that. If DFS replaces anyone it’s Max if Max falls off a cliff but it looks like he’s coming into his own

but ad also has been missing playing with wings that could actually help him on both ends... now he gets that spacing on one end with a guy like finney smith compared to vando and reddish and also gets help on the other end where a guy like finney smith can slow down the players from perimeter so ad has time to get in position for the rim protection and not a guy like dlo or rui who gets blown by every play.

i think it came down to not just D-Lo's inconsistency on offense, but his consistency on being unplayable in certain points of every game. Having to keep subbing him in and out because of him not being able to guard anyone would be frustrating for coaches. Besides, you could tell he was not happy taking a bench role and would've left anyway.

A lot of that was when AD was killing ish. JJ wanted D Lo always there to get AD involved. I think the way Austin has stepped up as a playmaker it’s given them confidence to move on from D Lo but they’ll def need someone else outside of Austin & Bron to be a ball handler
