The sound of someone trying to breathe after an accident is a horrendous sound to listen to

@noctis nox : similar story, back in 1999 my self and a few others found a bike in the middle of the road. So we looked down in the ditch and found another bike and a rider wedge under the fence. He was weezing and his leg was snapped inwards at the knee. I held the fence back as the medics worked on him. When his helmet was removed, i realized it was Daryl, a guy i met a year before. I hadn't seen since his other wreck a year prior. Sadly he didn't make it. What happened was he and another rider collided at over 100mph. The other guy tried to ride away, but was too injured so he got on the back of his friends bike and they went to the hospital. They just rode away and left Daryl.

noctis nox that would most likely be lateral breathing (or death rattle). Comes from really bad brain damage. Chance of survival is very small. In the case in the video he fractured his ribs which is probably why he sounded like that. It also sometimes takes some time for the body to figure out how to breath directly after an accident like that.

I felt from the bike two months ago and I broke my left arm, but with the adrenaline I didn't feel pain and I returned home with my bike, driving it with a broken arm. I started to feel the real pain after a couple of hours and I decided to go to the ER. Yeah, adrenaline is crazy.

The equipment does prevent post impact collateral damage There are countless possible injuries that may occur in an accident, you can prevent a lot of them, or at least reduce the chances of them occurring. However if you meant that it's possible to get severely injured or die even with equipment, I totally agree with you.

I say it’s effective up to certain speed... there was a video showing a comparison between cheap gear and authentic and even for the real gear I believe it was around 8-10 seconds. My 90 mph crash left me with no road rash, but also my padding was starting to come out .. had I hit the poles I slid between I possibly could have broken arms or worse ..

I was riding without protections, I fell like him, my left leg was completely red, covered by my blood, the flesh of my knee was grated on the street with part of the skin of my left arm, hand and shoulder. Then I insulted god, I lifted my bike, I insulted god again, the engine started and I drove it to the nearest town followed by a friend with his car. I was thinking about my bike all the time, the pain came later, in the hospital (and it was terrible).

Glad that youre okay! In the beginning, i could definitely relate to the labored breathing. When you have an impact on your back, your breath is forced out and it becomes very diffucult to take in breath. If you are ever in a situation like this, get your breathing under xontrol first and dont panic if nothing comes in for the first few breaths.

I twisted it back and told my friend im fine , that was until i tried to stand up , that it decided to go into another interesting direction , then i realized i was fucked . Such a hit will push most of your air out of your lungs. And with a bruised or partly collapsed lung you struggle to heave for the air your brain needs to function properly. That combined with the extreme pain.. You cannot not make that noise. I remember it very well from my own MC crash aswell. It’s so disturbing.

Dude when I was in my coal mining accident that broke my back in 3 places the sound you made is ran chills down me. I couldn't breath and had a major concussion that I had a seizure with. I couldnt😮 walk for 4 days then had to have back surgery to be able to be lead around and people take care of me for months. I mean everything I had to have help with. Glad it wasn't worse. Be safe

When i was a new rider i was doing 120mph in a group ride not knowing a road i saw in the distance a huge L curve turn was coming up. My ninja has no ABS so i had to slow down without locking up. I took the turn at 40mph tankfully nothing happened. Moral of the story have fait on your bike and look where you go. Just looking and focus will allow you to not worry about hiting the floor.
