No one ever had Tyson's number like that. The ref saved him from total embarrassment, cos it would have broken him completely had Usyk been allowed to knock him out. Not even Joshua that Fury always called a bum was slapped around like that, even in the first fight that Joshua didn't take Usyk seriously, he still wasn't outclassed like that 😂😂😂 I hope we all now can agree that Fury is the real bum. Just a big mouth and self-acclaimed "best HW of this era" 😂😂 When the time came for him to put his money where his mouth was, he couldn't. A real bum😂

Saved by the bell?! No way! FURY WAS SAVED BY THE REF! It was a “long count”. The ref didn’t start the count from when he STOPPED the fight, as rules dictate he should have done. The ref was first preoccupied with waving Usyk off to a neutral corner. That’s fine and as it should be. But the ref is NOT supposed then to turn back to the downed fighter (or, as in Fury’s case, being held up by the ropes) and start the count at ONE because the fighter has already had several seconds to recover. This is where the BENT REF FIX can come in… This ref should have taken up the count from five or six, and at TEN figure out whether the fighter is capable of defending himself. In Fury’s case, no way was Fury ready, let alone capable, of defending himself. He’d taken many pulverising blows without being able to throw a single punch in return and from which he was completely unable to defend himself. At TEN Fury was still barely able to stand! The fight SHOULD have been stopped at that moment. Moreover, refs are not supposed to give fighters still more time to recover and ask them to “walk a few steps” towards them to ascertain whether they are capable of continuing! This is open to abuse especially when the ref knows that the round is almost over, as he did in this instance, because the fighter then gets a further sixty-second break to recover, when in fact they had been KOed, as Fury was in this fight. TRUSTWORTHY REFS KNOW TEN SECONDS IS THE COUNT; no more, no less.

Taking an immediate rematch will be a big risk considering there is not much Fury can do differently besides coming in bigger. He tried everything albeit he had success in the mid rounds like Frank said countering with the uppercut and mixing it up by going to the body. But Usyk's fortitude weathered the storm and he kept to the gameplan of targeting Fuy's right side where fury has the habit of leaving his hand down and simply being better conditioned The best course of action Fury can take right now is to fight and take out AJ because there is a good chance Usyk now has his number. Right now Fury should just be thankful he doesn't have a ko loss on his record

@greysson2933
@greysson2933 Ай бұрын
I'd say the opposite - the fight was very close and if not for the knockdown/Fury switching off he could've had his hand raised. I think that he suffered a similar fate as vs Ngannou in that he seems to have fallen in love with himself too much. Vs Ngannou he rated his power too much, hence throwing the 1-2 combo twice in a row and getting floored for it, vs Usyk he seems to have thought he didn't have to work too hard or have anything to be cautious of. There were several times where Fury landed flush shots on Usyk and....lazily circled the ring. He generally didn't capitalise off his success enough to make much of it, and the more that happened the less I understood. By round 6 or so I thought that Fury had adjusted to Usyk's slickness and was going to start going on the offensive and take him out, but he never did. I had Usyk up by a single point by the end (admittedly with one or two swing rounds for Fury), and most people agree that it was a very close fight - if Fury comes back with more intent to box and less to show-boat then I could see him winning.

@@greysson2933 Yes it was a very close fight until the 7th round then I feel usyk ran away with it. I had usyk winning rnds 1,3,8,9,10,11,12 7-4 to usyk. Yes Fury had strong rounds especially 5 and 6 where he hurt Usyk. I don't think he capitalised because he was trying to make sure he didn't completely empty the tank and was happy to go the 12. I don't think the showboating made a differencehe was doing that because he was uncomfortable with the pressure usyk was putting him under and trying to convince the judges he was winning rounds

Those are the kind of fights that take a lot out of you. It might be popular to have a rematch clause these days but its not necessarily the right move. If you think there's an injustice in the result, maybe, but Fury got beat fair and square and he knows it and was lucky to have been saved by the bell. Usyk now knows how to beat Fury and there's every chance he'd beat him more easily next time. This is a tough choice for someone who's spent his life in the ring but every boxer has to retire in the end...

Firstly congratulations to Usek, incredible achievements. My concern for Tyson if he retires is, will he cope without the structure of boxing? He has a history of, drink and drug problems associated with poor mental health. He also has no limits now due to his financial situation. It would be tragic to see him come undone again. He may not survive round 2 of that. It was a great fight and fair result. My thoughts are with Tyson being able to enjoy his success in a healthy way for him and his family.

If Fury doesn't take the rematch Usyk should just retire cause he has got nothing else to prove and he is nearly 38. Or Usyk maybe could have one more fight with a heavyweight he hasn't fought before like the winner of Zhang or Wilder maybe but not a 3rd anthony Joshua fight.

I believe the rematch will happen. It was a great fight. It was a competitive fight. It was a hard fought fight. It was entertaining. Now isn't the time to talk about a rematch. Ali-Frazier 1 happened in 1971. Ali got his ass beat by UD. The rematch happened in 1974. Ali had 13 fights in between, getting his jaw broken by prohibitive underdog, Ken Norton. Frazier had 4 fights in between -- one in which he got destroyed by George Foreman in 2 rounds. Usyk-Fury 2 doesn't need to happen right away -- but I think they will do it this year. It's big money.

He should retire but we all seen what happened last time he took some time away from the sport, he ballooned in weight, drinking at dangerous levels, as much as he loves the sport, I think he loves being an attention seeker more and without the limelight being on him, I fear that within a few years we'll be getting a breaking news story about him being found unresponsive in a ditch or something like that.

Last week Frank Warren said he thought there was no controversy in the Lewis/Holyfield draw. Regardless of whether he’s talking about one of his own fighters, his opinion on the scoring of a fight should not be listened to. That is still “to this day” the worst decision I’ve ever seen. I don’t think the rematch happens, both guys have had back to back training camps, October is only 5 months away, a training camp is 12/16 weeks. They’d literally have a month or so off then straight back into an intense camp.

Tyson Fury needs one coach and one voice. He needs someone like Peter Fury. If Peter Fury would have been his trainer, Tyson Fury would have never faded after the 7th round and he would never have excessively "backfooted", which allowed Usyk to pressure him the way he did. Peter Fury trains fighters to go the distance and to give 100% in each and every round. He trains fighters to be both pro-actively offensive and pro-actively defensive. I knew with both Sugar Hill and John Fury being in the corner that there would be the problems. Sugar Hill is purely one-dimensional. John Fury has a lot of insight and knowledge but in crucial times and in critical situations he loses poise and composure. Tyson Fury needs a training team who is as professional as Team Usyk. He needs to approach his former trainer Peter Fury. Only if he gets together with his mentor can he have any hopes of winning the rematch.

Showboating was cover. Watch rounds 1-3, Tyson was struggling with Usyk, he was realising what he was up against. The panic showed on his face, so the Showboating was to deflect from the fact he wasn't winning those rounds, trying to hide he was struggling. When he got into the fight in 4-6 his expression changed and the Showboating reduced, he seemed more focussed and in control. But Usyk was too good, Tuson could land clean most of the time and Usyk caught up with him and then the panic came back. Corner was saying after the 11th he needed the 12th to win. I think they knew he was losing, but they obviously wouldn't say that. Listen to Sugar Hill, he was urging Tyson to put heavy combinations together, get on top of Usyk because I believe he knew a KO was required. Ignore the bluster, I believe Sugar Hill, Andy Leigh and Tyson all knew he was up against it and losing

2:27 Why does it seem unlikely to the interviewer that Usyk retires? He's 37 , been away from his family for an extended period due to Furys antics and missed critical landmarks in his childrens lives. I'd be more surprised if he DIDNT retire. Liely he's thinking that was because like most Yanks theyre all about the money and think everyone else is.
