DEF and DPF doesn’t put you $328million in debt. ($90 million of that is just in tractors, thats 1/3 of your debt in power units)BUT, buying 600 trucks inside of 10 years will. Sadly the reality is that roughly a million trucks need to be taken off the road to stabilize the market. Too many, trucks for the available freight market. Combined with an excess of foreign/illegal drivers is destroying the American trucking industry.

Lol...."too much debt" No kidding?! It's multi-faceted. California is part of the problem. When you're inundated with regulation; that alone can kill your business! Combine that with poor controls, and you end up where they are! They need to get a leader. Who understands these points and can get a grip on them! Overhead in labor, fuel, and maintenance are just a few of the things that they need to control!

Jack up the freight rates, and the cost of goods being hauled goes up; corporate buyers and private consumers tighten their belts, buy less, and fewer goods get trucked; and that hurts trucking companies and drivers, too. Raising prices in any major sector has a ripple effect across the entire economy. 55 years ago, $25,000 a year was a big salary. That's what upper middle class lawyers made. I know. I rented rooms, first in one house, and then another, from well-off attorneys, and we talked. Luxury cars like new Lincolns and Caddys were about $5K; Fords and Chevys were $3000 or so. I remember, because I had a fantasy about buying a new Continental sometime between getting my driver's license and reaching 21. So I priced Lincolns and Caddys in the newspaper ads. (I ended up settling for a 4-year old Ford Maverick for $1200. Had to pay $600 down to get financing. Young kid, no credit, on my own in a new town. Had to start somewhere.) Growing up, my family rented a 2 bedroom apartment for $165/mo. that's probably about $2K/mo. now. Increase wages, and costs go up; increase the price of goods and services, and people demand higher wages to afford them. And the company that pays better wages has to raise prices to maintain profit. Lather, rinse, repeat. I don't have any answers. But the U.S. (and the world) has been doing the "Raise Prices/Raise Wages" dance for centuries, and companies, sectors, and entire economies can still crash or outright fail; so whatever the answers are, they're NOT the same-o, same-o we've always done, and we're still doing. That's what got us here.乁( •_• )ㄏ Just a couple of days ago, my local news station (affiliated with ABC News) mentioned as part of a bigger story that the average cost of a new car has now hit $50K. I shoulda held out; saved every penny I made as a teenager, put it in an interest-bearing savings account (remember those?) every time I had a dollar in my hand, and finally bought me a $5K Lincoln Continental while there still WAS such a thing. Just sayin'.

Driving 3 decades tge thing bankrupting companies isn't the freight rates alone. It's not the fuel prices. The reason is a combination of things. Higher insurance rates, freight rates, more deadhead and retention time. Payments,Maintenance, taxes, and lawsuits.Then the rates. Add on older trucks need more repair or traded. When I started it was common small companies repaired their trucks but now technology is making that difficult.
@MudlangenTango6 күн бұрын
One more thing to add. The debt, operating on borrowed money, when your not operating on your own money or capital but having to rely on industry loan sharks it does not take much before you can't make your payments. From the everyday person maxing out their credit cards to companies, to governments. This should be a lesson to us all.

2025/ 2026 will be the clean up, mop up period for trucking. All those owner operators and trucking companies who went out and bought super trucks when freight was hot during the lock down, causing a surge in equipment are now in serious financial trouble. I have been at this since 1995 and I have seen several bubbles and bursts. I got into the Industry when JB Hunt was driving Cab Overs and everyone made fun of them. I don't get excited when we have a bull market That is time to safe your money not buy a super truck. When all those super trucks go to Repo, then I will get a new truck at the aution for dirt cheap. Sorry if you are feeling the consequences of a bear market. If you survive this, then you will have learnt a valuable lesson. Good Times Don't Last Forever. Save Save Save.
@LuisDelgado20166 күн бұрын
Where do you go for these auctions? Appreciate it if any info given🙏
@Dan13Speed6 күн бұрын
@LuisDelgado2016 Vehicle auctions are for dealers only. We have them in every State. My Dad is a dealer in Florida. You can register as a dealer even without a lot. You can get an Export Dealer License. Yes, you will go through a background check and all the other bureaucratic hoops, but it's really worth it getting a dealer license. You save thousands on cars and trucks and you can make good money as a side hustle. You can buy cars for your friends and family for dirt cheap. It's worth every effort getting a dealer license. Alternatively, you can cross the border and attend an auction in Canada, where you can buy vehicles as a foreign entity for sale in the US. Nobody is coming to check if you actually sell these vehicles if you decide to keep them for personal use. Anyways, I hope I answered your question. Happy Holidays.

@Dan13Speed5 күн бұрын
@Dan.a.k.a.bradpitt I am not the best guy for financial advice, however, we have what is known as Good Money and Bad Money. That is layman's talk for appreciating assets and depreciating assets. A house in North America (ever since we decided to build them with non durable materials is good for 20 - 30 years. After that it's junk. In other countries where they are built in stone, the houses last 250 years.) Depending on how old the house is, it will appreciate in value, so it's making you money quietly. A truck on the other hand depreciates in value every day. You can never get what you paid for it. Having said that, my best advice is keep the house, or sell it at a profit, invest the money (best investment right now is Bitcoin. Trump said he will establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve for the US Government. This puts the price up to $1 million and beyond with a few months after this thing is set up. Buy a truck using someone else's money. Take that from a guy who has bought 10 trucks and 12 trailers. Don't convert Good Money into Bad Money. Stay Safe.

Read the “Executive Summary” and their growth history in the “Four Business Lines” carefully. The “plan” is to “withdraw their non-core parts and tire businesses and liquidate certain real estate assets” leaving just the core trucking business. As if the trucking business is ever going to be viable LOL! This chapter 11 reorganization will most definitely lead to a chapter 7 total liquidation of all company assets to pay Daimler and TBK . There is no doubt in my mind that the principals of the company has seen this coming and stripped out cash and assets ahead of this filing. Hence, the allegations of malfeasance. If you’re a creditor other than Daimler or TBK you won’t see a penny out this. If you’re an employee, run, don’t walk to another job.

It's not rocket science. It's very simple economics if everything were normal and carriers were actually making profits like they did before the s. A. Peprogram. Then Any trucking company would be able to borrow themselves out of the position.
@RAThatFNGirlChicago5 күн бұрын
Hi guys, its RA your fledgling trucker in training heres what this means: Sounds like they severely overleveraged themselves. Which means they took out too many loans. They owed more money than they were bringing in. Usually this happens when a company takes out loans to build or buy land facilities and equipment, and they didn't make enough money to pay those loans. They basically expanded too damn fast. It's just like with a person's personal credit. You not supposed to have debt more than 33% of your gross income. Shit like that. Maybe they going thru the 11 to restructure that huge debt like debt consolidation to relieve the high interests or balloon loans they took out. They maybe ok depending on the loan types they have. They may need to sell some assets to pull it through. Always remember there is a difference between gross and net revenue. Net revenue is the money you got left after paying all your bills. This is the most important to you as a person and company owner.

Obviously a plethora of different decisions to overreach and expand during the trucking boom and not accounting for the deconstruction of the past four years of the current administration’s policies that put the economy and the trucking industry in the toilet. Destroying the “ supply chain “ was, and is the most devastating part of what has kept trucks off the road. Parts, particularly sensors designed for the after treatment system, were delayed and scarcely available . Made in China…. The energy sector was destroyed, pipelines stopped, drilling stopgaps, the ability to export oil, gas and other energy commodities was and is still ( until Trump is back ) not able to be exported due to the Biden administration signing an executive order to destroy that ability within the first two days of his presidency. Which, by the way, was and is still a major factor of Russia’s energy influence in Europe, and emboldened attack on Ukraine. The fleecing of our treasury and printing money to support socialist programs, ( don’t get me started on Obamacare and the effects it has had on our medical costs ) other countries, and wars that started under the Biden administration, along with just the general economic subsidies that have increased the fiscal deficit and has caused inflation to rise at a rate never seen before in THIS nation EVER. Particularly within a time of supposed peace time. ( The only time we have seen this type of spending is during the world wars ) This and more are the reasons why this company and others have had to file for chapter 11 bankruptcy, or just give up and close their doors altogether. All the other factors of cheap freight, greedy brokers, higher repair costs, unfounded and forced technology being implemented ( DEF systems, safety systems ) and the sensors that not only fail, but literally down grade and then handicap the truck if they do fail or sense the smallest discrepancy within that system. And let’s not forget the companies that are undermining and undercutting salaries and freight costs-prices by using foreigners ( work programs ) and in some cases illegal workers to drive trucks and pay them scraps. Point being, this company, along with other industries and companies all have had to downgrade, restructure, and streamline their operations due to the economic deconstruction the democrat party has caused BY DESIGN. Guess everyone forgot when Obama said this was the “ NEW NORMAL “… Then Trump went into office and dismantled their entire narrative of economic suppression. That’s why they lied, supported riots, impeached under false accusations, and did everything they possibly could do to stop trump from being reelected and solidifying his policies. BTW, get ready for the cities to be destroyed again and the riots to begin again… along with the lies and deceit to become ever more rampant. Last thing, we have had some really really bad actors come over our borders for the last four years. Those cells are probably going to become active once trump is in office. From China to Russia and the Middle East… These people are here and are not on our side. Be vigilant and aware. Good luck citizens, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!

Buy 75 gallons and get free buffet? What's that figure out to be with the cost of fuel????
@MuthaTrucker6 күн бұрын
Will if you don't get fuel. It's free showers and hot dogs 😇 just sharing what they're offering

You need fuel driver....... You don't even get a free coffee anymore with a full truck. I Don't see how getting a free buffet meal ALONG with your fuel is somehow bad.

@@Peterblack12 I can foretell downside to free buffet with fuel... Long fuel lines because of drivers cashing in on the buffet,, while leaving their trucks idling on the islands because they are too lazy to go find a parking spot...

The company I'm with they were in trouble! So what they did to save the company was Gov the trucks from 75 to 68 MPH Cut the pay from .65 to .50 CPM They started doing 60% of business with Walmart and Costco. One year later the company just replied half of the trucks with new 2024 trucks! BUT our pay is the same .50 CPM 😢 Already got my HazMat endorsement tanker endorsement TWIC card am ready to go work the oil fields! Drill baby drill Trump 🇺🇸🙏
