Yes, but in public schools the prayer disappeared after the 1962 Supreme Court ruling and there was never any Bible verses read that I can recall. We desperately need to bring it back, with mandatory Bible classes but with a more "matter-of-fact" approach in public schools rather than an effort to convert. I'm convinced my young adult years would have had a better outcome under such an education system.

"Another way to get money". I totally agree. I went to school for engineering. Would have liked more reinforcement and supplemental engineering electives. I went through all the typical electives foisted on everybody and even a couple more useless ones. One taught by an old Hippy about science fiction books and another was art history as an elective at a nearby consortium college to hopefully pad my GPA and it actually brought it down. The teacher was an angry sort. I had to write several Precis. I went to the tutoring center at my school to learn what a Precis was and they didn't know what it was either.
