Instead, let Soler go, traded Arraez, Chisholm and Scott and are now cheering about their prospect haul. They're hoping their prospects turn into... Soler, Arraez, Chisholm and Scott types so they can get back to the playoffs 😐

This deal seemed to create as many problems as it solves at first glance. Do the Padres have enough spots on the active roster? I guess there shouldn't be a prom on the 40 man since so many top prospects are gone. If no starter is signed in the next 14 min as I'm writing this, I guess all of the old bullpen might add up to a regular bullpen game at least once every time through the rotation. But this bullpen is now incredibly good. Might be able to bridge all the way from the 6th to Suarez every game using different pitchers in consecutive days all throwing at least 98 mph and every pitcher a WHIP of less than one.

That's not that great a haul tbh. I'd rather be us with Arraez and Scott (I think they would too). They went from playoffs last year, adding nothing, selling off in month 1, and now hoping their farm eventually... gets them to the playoffs. I feel bad for their fans. That was us forever ago.

@@OGTirpleOG you guys are underestimating how solid Snelling is. He's the best guy in the deal from both sides. Scott is a rental. Huge Overpay

@@jefepeeps4308 snelling doesnt have wipe out stuff. He relys on sequencing and his outstanding control. You are also forgetting about humberto cruz (many scouts had him as the top international pitcher last year), and the guys we drafted. Like I said, snelling regressed a lot in AA. 6 ERA is not ideal but we dont have time for him to figure it out. Again you mention scott but not hoeing? Gosh this feels like the tommy pham trade again. Everyone was focus on pham but ignored Crone. Im telling you Hoeing will be a key piece in our pen/rotation in the next 6 years.

I really like this trade, We will have an amazing bullpen, and if at least one of the two (Yu or Joe) starters comes back, it will be very hard to score on us. With Yu or Joe, Cease, King, Maldron, Vazquez and a Pin of Suarez, Estrada, Morejon, Scott, Hoeing and Adams. I like our chances, and I don't think many teams will be very happy facing us, especially in the playoffs. I know we gave up a lot, but you either win now or wait for the future.

For a 2-month rental, giving away a prospect like Snelling is painful. Wish we were dealing expendable Major Leaguers like De Los Santos, Morejon and even Kim (who is struggling again). Don't know much about Hoeing, but maybe they think Morejon can build up to a starter in September.
