I wouldn't mind at all if Rex returned. Despite how his time as a Jets coach ended, he not only was the last Jets coach to get us to the playoffs, he coached us to back to back AFC Championships. Thats never happened in my lifetime. Rex is one of us. He LOVES the NY Jets & he WANTS to be HC. That goes a long way. We desperately need that kind of passion right now. We need accountability & energy. Rex can bring those qualities back. He's not gonna take any shit. I'm not worried about how he'll handle the NY Press. More than any other potential head coach, Rex can handle the NY press. Our Defense would flourish again under Rex. He plays smash mouth physical football. If we get a good OC & GM, I think our team would be feared again. I don't know if Rex will get the job, but if he does, I'd be excited. Lets Go Jets! 👊 💥 🏈

Even if Rex doesn't get the head coach job, make him the assistant head coach. That guy knows how to keep a boot in the players' asses!!! He would motivate them and help the head coach and the rest of the staff keep players focused. Rex could quickly help with the personnel issues, scouting, and what the Jet's culture is supposed to be instead of what it is. Also, if the next head coach has problems and gets fired, Rex is an excellent backup plan. It's a win-win that doesn't cost much but could have a high payoff.

I want a coach that thinks outside the box. If it makes sense to play a 3 4 defense this week with deep safety coverage...thats what we will do. Next weeks opponent if we need to play 4 3 defense with close in safety coverage to fill in the line backing thats what we will do. Each game has a strategy to adjust to our opponent. Adjusting the defense and offense each game and each half. Some one who understands abd can adapt not only to the opponent but to the strength of our talent. Is Rex that guy? Don't know. But I do love Rex. He was my favorite coach by far.

I admire Rex's passion. I wonder though, how in-tune he is to today's NFL offense with its emphasis on passing. "Ground and pound" won't work today. Neither will relentless blitzing, which the NFL caught onto after a year or two of his last term. Rex would need a very strong OC who will develop a young QB, not just train him to stay out of the defense's way.

Frankly, if we are going defense for the HC then you hire Aaron Glenn, he's young, passionate, and has helped lead a team with over 20 guys on IR to an incredible season. I would only accept Rex as DC, not as HC. Gruden, Vrabel, or someone with previous head coaching experience as HC preferred. Rex Ryan, like Robert Saleh, does not hold players accountable. The culture will not improve with Rex as HC. They need a hard disciplinarian as HC. Sean Payton, Bill Belichick, Mike Vrabel, Bill Parcells, Jimmy Johnson, Eric Mangini; these coaches are examples of hard disciplinarians.
