He’s not an actor I ever would have considered for the role, but when I saw the announcement it struck me as kind of great casting. Guy has a lot of range and has been good in everything I’ve seen him in, so I look forward to seeing what he does with the part.

*_Pruitt Taylor Vince is a great actor with a lot of range and a specialty for playing characters with a deep, sensitive streak to them: I expect that scenes involving him and Clark are going to be particularly touching. Really like this casting, especially since it is quite the surprise that he’d play Superman’s adoptive father._*

I wouldn't say Pa Kent is destined to be killed off, he's not Ben Parker or Thomas and Martha Wayne, where him suffering Death By Origin Story is a consistent thing across all continuities (aside from Earth-6160), there are pleanty of depictions of Clark as an adult with both his parents still around.

Ironically, in the original John Byrne “man of steel” run (which Pa Kent doesn’t die), he was overweight, frumpy and balding. So it’s actually in the source material. ‘Fans’ are there own worst critics 😂

Yeah, I don't get the reactions. I like the casting of both Johnathan Kent and Martha Kent. They give the vibes of good parents for Clark. All we need there are good influences that can support Superman in whatever presence they have in the film.

It was Kevin Costner who didn't look like Pa Kent!!!!! Neither did John Schneider. NONE of the Ma Kents were comic accurate!!!! As long as Superman, Lois Lane and Lex Luthor resemble the originals, it's all good!!!!
