Signal vs noise. What catches up with you in any domain of life -- where rubber-meets-the-road -- is the "why." Superficiality quickly dissolves when goin' gets tough, and "success" is a fluid/evolving definition, always pointing you toward genuine equilibrium & victory.

Appreciate this guy, James. Problem is, most people don’t know their true self. Hard men in any service are hard to find. They are not the norm. They are genetically superior, mentally superior in handling stress and pain. Most men are not made that way, and that’s ok. It’s a rough life with rough guys and not intended for video game playing, everybody gets a trophy, I deserve this, people.

Your explanation of what it takes is probably the best I’ve ever read. Genetically & mentally superior is the way it should be explained to all those interested that this is what it boils down to. You either have it, or you don’t. It’s the top of the food chain, without a doubt. People need to ask themselves “what are my chances of making an NFL starting line up during open tryouts?” I think that pretty much sums up BUD’s. 🇺🇸😎✌🏾🤙🏾

I thought the run I did in PT in Bootcamp, When I ran, i was going good, TILL I realized I had shortness of breath and a fear of water. I ended up getting a swim tutor. I told the instructor i had a traumatic experience of almost drowning at 12. Shit traveled from there into my time I went to boot. I was 28 on a reserve enlistment to go Corpsman. I told my RDC to have them dump my head in water because i needed to kill that previous trauma. I WAS DEAD ASS about it too. He asked "Dixon are you fucking crazy?! Good, you got balls after all! You're ass gonna pass, you're mad now!" From that day forward, I accepted getting my ass burned with PT. I was like fuck it, ya'll ain't about look down on me, 'cause i give a fuck about the choice I made. The fire i had was make it or die trying. About almost a week later, I was hit with Pigment Dispersion Syndrome. I got a medical discharge, but before I went to , my Div 301 (intergrated) USS Chicago Ship 7, didn 't want me to go. Petty Officer First Class Mikalogic asked what my future plans were, and told me "You got heart' as she walked me to the seperations barracks for medical discharge. After getting sent back home. having a unhealthy diet, depression made me fall into a hole. I was big as hell again, high blood pressure, but i got strength from the Navy not to let people fuck me over. Today I am back at the size when I left boot. Dropped that weight down 7 months ago, i feel better, got therapy, and glad I TRIED! All before 40

Honestly, quitting is always hard. The thing is not everyone belongs or should be at BUDS. If a student wants to be there, they won't care what they hear. They won't care how much pain they are in. However, if you feel it's not for you, it's fine. Your guest has made a good life for himself. He made a hard choice and made his life work for hi m. The one thing is BUDS, along with any difficult test, is that mental fortitude plays a huge part. Most special forces folks are funny. It's because they use humor to deal with the suck. Building mental toughness in life in my mind is just as important as the physical. If you are exhausted and your brain says "we got this, woo hoo" you will find a way to get through it.
